Some great connection moments from our ongoing Africa leadership team meeting in Ethiopia. Our teams from ChildFund International, ChildFund Deutschland, and WeWorld Onlus visited five ChildFund Ethiopia's local partner organizations and supported communities in Addis Ababa. During the visit, the teams had the privilege of engaging with some of the children, youth and community members participating in our programs, and witnessing the impact of ChildFund's programs firsthand. Our Annual Africa Leadership Team meeting has kicked off today in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia! In attendance, are leaders from ChildFund International, and other ChildFund Alliance organizations - ChildFund Deutschland, Children Believe, Barnfonden, WeWorld Onlus, Educo ONG and ChildFund New Zealand. This week-long workshop focuses on amplifying our impact as we seek to expand our programs within our current countries of operation and into the Sahel region, to reach more children, youth and communities. We are honored to have our ChildFund International Chief Impact and Innovation Officer Karen Hanrahan with us, accompanied by other members of our Global Leadership Team - Meg Audette, Mario Lima and Adam Hicks. We are also delighted to have ChildFund Deutschland CEO Alexander Busl and COO Torsten Schäfer and WeWorld Onlus Head of International Programs Stefania Piccinelli. #Africa #leadership #ChildFund

ChildFund launched the Nurse and Life Skills Training Program as a response to two dire needs in Zambia: more health workers, and more jobs for young people. Supported by a generous grant from the Mastercard Foundation, the program was built on a skills model comprising three pillars: nurse vocational training, youth life skills training and e-learning. Over 2,000 young people were trained and most of them have since been deployed in various hospitals and health centers. Glavess is the Sister in Charge at the Muchimazi Rural Health Center where ChildFund recently commissioned a water improvement Project. She is one of the young people that were trained under the e-learning Project. She was privileged to meet the CEO and President of ChildFund International Isam Ghanim and the Africa Regional Director Chege Ngugi during their recent visit to Zambia. “I’m glad to be part of this water project that will provide clean water at the Clinic at which I’m the in charge, it was also a rare honor to meet the ChildFund CEO and the Regional Director, I thank ChildFund for making my dream of becoming a nurse come true. #YouthEmployment #LifeSkills

The Joining Forces, an alliance of six international child-focused NGOs, continue to call for greater financial investments and political will by governments and the wider international community for children’s systematic participation in decision-making processes. ChildFund Zambia is taking action to combat household food insecurity with the launch of the Food Security for Vulnerable Households (FOSEV) initiative. We're leveraging Sustainable Agriculture Support to mitigate the effects of drought and other challenges on food security. The current emergency food insecurity situation is driven by climate change and local crop failures arising from the drought the country suffered during the last farming season. It's crucial that we act swiftly to stabilize the situation. Our Immediate Disaster Response to Emergency Food Insecurity project aims to deliver essential food supplies, implement nutritional support programs, ensure access to clean water and sanitation, provide critical healthcare services, and engage communities effectively. Together, we can mitigate the immediate impacts of food insecurity, reduce malnutrition rates, and strengthen the resilience of affected populations during this crisis. #FoodSecurity #ChildFundZambia #SupportingCommunities #TogetherWeCan
