[编辑]词源
[编辑]源自英国。一类似谚语记载于1866年的威尔士,彭布罗克郡:“Eat an apple on going to bed, / And you’ll keep the doctor from earning his bread.”[1]但是,苹果能治病的说法甚为古老。在英国作家John Clavell(1601年-1643年)所著戏剧The Soddered Citizen(首次演出约1631–1633年)中,有情节暗示胃灼热的人吃苹果后睡上一觉,第二天就会痊愈。[2]
