The Royal Gear is a recurring archetype of Weapon in The Legend of Zelda series.[1][name references needed]
Location and Uses
Breath of the Wild
The Royal Gear was equipment issued to the immediate guard details of the Royal Family of Hyrule,[2][3][4] as well as in recognition of impressive martial feats.[5][6] Weaponry of the Royal Gear is notable for its combination of power and elegant, elaborate design.[4][5][6] The weapons' distinctive ornamentation was created by craftsmen in the royal family's service.[3]
Every piece of Royal Gear is metallic. This means they will conduct Electricity and attract Lightning during Thunderstorms, but they do not burn when exposed to Fire or a Scorching Climate. While they will sink if they are dropped in Water, they can be picked up and manipulated with the Magnesis Basic Rune.

Tears of the Kingdom
Like most metal equipment, the Gloom has caused most Royal Gear items to have significantly reduced durability, but some uncorrupted items can be found in the Depths. All melee weapons from the Royal Gear also gain a new property that increases the damage from Flurry Rushes.
