Rock Roasts are recurring Objects in The Legend of Zelda series.[1][2][3]

Location and Uses

Breath of the Wild

Rock Roasts appear in the Shrine Quest, "A Brother's Roast". After finding Gonguron collapsed in Gorko Tunnel, his brother, Bladon, asks Link to find Rock Roasts near Gortram Cliff to help him.[1] In order to bring a Rock Roast uphill to Gorko Tunnel, Link must evade a series of Boulders, Fire Chuchus, and Moblins.

Upon retrieving a Rock Roast for Bladon, the Goron will Cook it using the nearby Cooking Pot, making a Deliciously Grilled Rock Roast.[4] The smell from the Deliciously Grilled Rock Roast will wake Gonguron from his stupor.[5] Eating the Deliciously Grilled Rock Roast restores Gonguron's strength, allowing him to hurriedly break through the nearby wall of hard rock, revealing Kayra Mah Shrine.[6] After this, Rock Roasts will no longer appear at Gortram Cliff.

Rock Roasts cannot be destroyed with the Remote Bomb Rune. Link is unable to cook one should he take one to a different Cooking Pot or places it on Aji's grill, meaning Bladon is the only way to turn it into a Deliciously Grilled Rock Roast.

Descriptionshide ▲
Rock Roast
Considered a Goron delicacy, this meal is beyond the chewing power of the average Hylian.

Rock Roasts are chunks of rock in the shape of Meat. They are thought of as a delicacy by the Gorons, but they are too tough for most Hylians to eat.[3] Rock Roasts function as Bait to Tweeluses and Temper Tweeluses, who will run to eat any they see. They can be Learned as an Echo. When summoned as one, they have an Echo cost of one.
