Job Title: Actuarial Analyst - Healthcare Industry
Job Description:
We are seeking an Actuarial Analyst to join our client's team in the healthcare industry. In this role, you will utilize statistical and actuarial models to analyze data and derive insights, driving product development, benefits design, and pricing strategies.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct research and advocate policy improvements to enhance the healthcare system.
- Contribute to mergers and acquisitions, product development, benefit design, pricing evaluations, and actuarial reporting.
- Analyze, develop, and validate statistical data, updating actuarial forecasting models and ensuring accuracy.
- Apply industry standards and trends such as cost-benefit analysis and program evaluation for health plan development.
- Design health metrics and collaborate across departments for efficient implementation.
- Participate in committees and provide actuarial support to other business units.
- Undertake assigned tasks as per operational requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or equivalent at NQF Level 7.
- Minimum 5 years of actuarial experience, including 2 years in product development at a specialist/management level.
- Valid registration with the Actuarial Society of South Africa.
- Honours degree in Actuarial Science, Statistics, or Mathematics (NQF Level 8) is advantageous.
- Experience in healthcare research, actuarial analysis, or maintaining actuarial models for insurance risk assessment is a plus.
