Education is not just a pathway to personal growth but also a catalyst for societal progress and sustainability. We honoured the late Nelson Mandela and our former CEO, Ntombifuthi Ntuli by engaging in various activities to support Sparrow Combined Technical Skills School in Johannesburg and Marsh Memorial Homes in Cape Town. Using this opportunity to share our "Let the Wind Blow" children's book, an initiative established during Ntombifuthi's leadership, allowed us to imprint her legacy for generations to come. The nation saw unemployment inch up to 32.1% by Q4 of 2023, with notable employment declines in community services, construction, agriculture, trade, and manufacturing, as reported by Statistics South Africa. However, the wind industry emerges as a frontrunner within renewable energy, contributing to job creation, environmental benefits, and economic advancement. Santosh Sookgrim, senior technical advisor at the South African Wind Energy Association (SAWEA), highlights the importance of a multifaceted talent pool: “The wind industry requires a blend of technical, policy, legal and environmental expertise across the full value chain.
