Meet Siwe Mamba, a shining example of joy and positivity at RCL FOODS. Raised by a single mom, Siwe learned early on that joy is both free and invaluable. Since joining our Baking business at our Pretoria West in 2014, her journey from Quality Control Technician to Processing Manager has been driven by her commitment to happiness. Siwe is grateful for the support of mentors like Tanya D’Silva, Kevin Clarke, and her boss Nosi Hermanus. She remains motivated and continues to thrive, spreading joy wherever she goes. Now, in Operations, she feels the most herself, proving that with change, comes growth and, most important of all, joy! Siwe’s advice to those looking to grow their careers: It’s okay to change your career to find where you truly belong. And always, wherever you can, choose joy. We're thrilled to announce the opening of our new warehouse at the Komati sugar mill! This facility is crucial for our operations, storing over 40 000 tons of raw sugar for the Malelane refinery. In October 2021, a devastating fire burned down the original warehouse. Thanks to the bravery and quick thinking of our employees, the factory was spared and no one was hurt. Over 10 days, teams from Komati, Malelane, and other areas, along with our dedicated growers, came together to battle the blaze and protect the factory. This incredible teamwork and community spirit was truly inspiring. Without this warehouse, our factory and supply chain teams had to be incredibly agile, managing sugar stocks and logistics to prevent any disruptions in cane crushing at Komati. After two challenging seasons, we're excited to have the new warehouse up and running, allowing us to operate more efficiently and effectively.
