In a heartwarming event last month, the Thabazimbi Hospital in Regorogile Township received a generous donation of four Toyota Hilux Double-Cab Bakkies from the Northam Zondereinde Community Trust. This significant contribution marks a major step forward in improving healthcare delivery, especially in remote areas. Zondereinde Human Resources Manager, Buyiswa Spayile, emphasized the importance of partnerships in enhancing healthcare, noting that these vehicles are vital for reaching distant communities. Dr. Kupa, Head of Thabazimbi Hospital, highlighted the challenges faced by the hospital's limited fleet in serving nine outreach clinics, some up to 100 km away. She expressed gratitude, saying, "This donation offers hope and a healthier future for our community." Trustee Dr. M Pheyaga reinforced the commitment to community health, stating, "The donation is not just about transportation but about saving lives and enhancing healthcare quality." The new vehicles symbolize improved medical care access and a brighter future for Thabazimbi residents. In alignment with our commitment to community safety and as part of Community Collaboration Awareness Month, Northam’s Booysendal Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality Team, along with our Security Department, recently spearheaded a Road Safety Campaign. Conducted at both the South Mine’s Cattle Grid and the North Mine’s Helipad, this initiative aimed to raise awareness and ensure the safety of our employees during the festive season. From checking vehicle conditions and permits to reinforcing the importance of safety belts and driver’s licenses, our team, in collaboration with the Mpumalanga Traffic Department and Netcare 911, worked tirelessly to promote a culture of vigilance and care.
