We have 295 million customers in 19 markets and are inspired by our belief that everyone deserves the benefits of a modern, connected life. Inspired by Africa’s potential, we are committed to bridging the digital divide, furthering financial inclusion and advancing the attainment of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals through our core business activities and our support to governments, communities, and customers. We were established in South Africa at the dawn of democracy in 1994 as a leader in transformation. Since then, we have grown by investing in sophisticated communication infrastructure, developing new technologies and by harnessing the talent of our diverse people to offer services to communities in Africa and the Middle East. Our strategic intent is Ambition 2025: Leading digital solutions for Africa’s progress, harnessing the power of MTN – our leading brand, footprint, connectivity infrastructure and technology platforms. Our strategy is anchored in building the largest and most valuable platform business with a clear focus on Africa. This rests on a scale connectivity and infrastructure business – mobile and fixed access networks in the consumer, enterprise and wholesale segments. We are accelerating implementation through partnerships. Our strategy is supported and funded through enhanced cost and capex efficiencies.

#30yearsofMTN | In 1994, South Africa stood on the brink of a monumental shift, celebrating its first democratic elections and the dawn of a new era. Amidst this historic moment, another quiet revolution began—one that would redefine communication and connection for millions. In June of that year, as South Africa emerged from the shadows of apartheid, only 1% of adult black South Africans had telephones in their homes. This stark reality underscored the deep-seated inequalities that still needed to be addressed. However, the rise of cellular technology offered a glimmer of hope—a promise of a more connected future where communication became a right rather than a privilege. Fast forward three decades, and MTN's iconic yellow has become a symbol of innovation, connectivity, and social impact across Africa. It stands testament to the visionaries who dared to dream and the relentless efforts of countless individuals who made that dream a reality. The story of MTN's yellow is not just about corporate branding; it's about human ingenuity, ambition, and the transformative power of connection. #30yearsofMTN | Our journey began with a bold promise: to install 7,500 community payphones in five years. This wasn’t just a number; it was a commitment to bridging the digital divide in a nation where telecommunications access was starkly uneven. In just a decade, we didn’t just meet this target—we exceeded it by a third. But we didn’t take the easy road. Instead of focusing on urban areas, we also reached out to underserved communities, many historically marginalised and deprived of basic services. This was the first spark of our unwavering belief that- “everyone deserves the benefits of a modern, connected life.” Read more : https://lnkd.in/dpHn4_77 #DoingGoodTogether MTN South Africa
