Visa processing has finally picked up. We are seeing multiple visa grants, mainly for applications lodged around February and March 2023. Is is critical that the skilled visa program supports a steady stream of visa grants, otherwise applicants get frustrated and processing times blow out. We are still waiting for the key states to launch their state sposnorship programs. Then we can get back into the business of actually lodging visas 😀 I hope you all have a safe and peaceful long weekend.

A premier Australian Migration Agency for South Africans wishing to immigrate to Australia.
About us
Migrate 2 Oz is an Australian Migration Agency established over 15 years ago with offices in Brisbane and Johannesburg, offering clients the advantage of being close to a registered Australian immigration agent throughout the visa application process. The Australian visa system is a highly complex and dynamic one. This requires not only up-to-date knowledge of the regulations but also vast experience to succeed in complicated cases. One size does not fit all in migration. Every application is different. As a leading migration agency, Migrate 2 Oz prides itself in maintaining the highest standards of integrity, offering honest professional advice and in-depth knowledge of the visa system to guide you through the immigration process and secure your Australian visa. Visa application is not a one-size-fits-all solution and your individual circumstances depict the type of visa application route you should take. That’s why we handle all visas on a case-by-case basis, working closely with you to identify your personal goals and expectation in order to put together an immigration plan that matches your needs. We only accept applications that we believe meet or exceed the minimum requirements and would never take on a client that we think wouldn’t be approved for a visa. Given the professional experience of our Registered Australian Migration agents and our specialist support staff, the team at Migrate 2 Oz also has the ability to offer relevant, value-added advice outside of the scope of migration visas, including financial implications when migrating, settlement advice, etc. We thrive on tackling challenging and interesting cases and pride ourselves providing innovative immigration solutions. Our team is arguably one of the most experienced and qualified teams in South Africa, and consists of chartered accountants, attorneys and experienced migration administration staff. Collectively, we boast in excess of 30 years’ experience in the migration industry.

Here we go again Another Australian financial year has begun and we are all keenly awaiting the opening of the new state sponsorship season. We have been promised an increase in state sponsorships over last year and now the invitations need to flow. Again Australia has increased the visa application fees and many eligible and committed South African applicants will be wondering if Australia really wants them. The migration mountain has grown a little bit taller. Is it worth taking the first step? In Australia the job market is busy with shortages in teachers, tradesman, healthcare and other occupations. In my mind its all about the passion. If you have the passion for Australia then the answer is Yes. Take the first step and begin the journey. It won't be short or cheap, but when you reach the finishing line they will call you 'Mate'. Let me know if we can help you.

Thinking about a new life in Australia? As 2023 is winding up, I am looking back at how the year was for Migrate2oz clients and what we can expect from 2024. We started the year riding the wave of the post-Covid surge in state sponsored visa invitations. This had begun around September 2022 and continued until around April 2023. Many people who had held on through Covid and some who had needed to redo their skills assessments finally got their 190 or 491 invites. This covered a broad range of occupations. Then we saw a switch as the state sponsorships slowed down and the visa grants picked up. Clients who had lodged their visas in 2021 and 2022 now stated to get Case Officers and ultimately visa grants. This is ongoing and likely to remain the story until sponsorships pick up again somewhere in the first half of 2024. In fact, I even received a direct visa grant today for a 190 Engineering Technologist sponsored by NSW and lodged in March 2023. However, priority occupations such as Teachers and Health Care Workers have bucked the trend and continue to receive fast and quality state sponsorship invites. They are also seeing speedy visa processing and visa grants. We end the year with proposed migration police changes that will see a reduction in student options but maintain a key focus on skilled migration. Although, I have learnt over the years not to place too much faith in proposed changes until the legislation is passed and they actually come into effect. My belief is that 2024 will continue to offer visa opportunities to suitable candidates who are prepared to invest in the process and get themselves invitation ready. Bottom line, if you have been thinking about Australia as a destination for you and your family Australia is still very much open for business. Please email me on [email protected] for an assessment of your visa options. Wishing you all a safe and blessed 2024.

Have you ever seen a waterfall more stunning than Mitchell Falls? Mitchell Falls is a must-see for any visitor to the Kimberley region of Western Australia. This four-tiered waterfall is absolutely stunning, with crystal-clear water cascading from one tier to the next. The best time to visit is during the wet season (November to March), but the falls are still beautiful to see during the dry season.
