In the Interests of a safer South Africa

About us

Established in 1987 and based in Johannesburg, the Liquefied Petroleum Gas Association of South Africa (LPGSA) is a non-profit company (NPC) that represents companies that are involved in the installation, distribution, hardware, and retailing of LP Gas and gas appliances. As the industry body, we are dedicated to the safe use of LP Gas, everywhere in South Africa – in domestic, commercial, and industrial applications as well as many other industries. The LPGSSA works very closely with the various Government Departments including but not limited to, the Department of Labour, Department of Energy, the South Africa Bureau of Standards (SABS), and the various Fire Departments in the control and approval of all LP Gas sites, SABS National Standards and the Codes and Practices as they pertain to the industry. The LP Gas Safety Association promotes safety in the industry and to this end presents a variety of training courses to cover all needs. In terms of the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHS) and lead pressure equipment regulations, only registered LP Gas Practitioners shall install and/or maintain LP Gas installations.
