💪 We only grow when our people do too. This is why we are excited to see our first group of Gold Fields people complete the Ignite Leadership programme. Launched in 2023, Ignite is one of the courses created especially by Korn Ferry for our company to keep developing our people. 🙌 Last week, this group, who is from our Corporate Office and South Deep mine in South Africa, received their certificates from CEO Mike Fraser, with various Exco members there to congratulate them. The Ignite programme provides managers with the tools to build their impact and harness their team members’ unique skills and talents. It brings together people from different countries and areas of the business, so look out for our next graduating group! 📷 Congratulations Ruan Briel, Jaco Schutte, Elzani Bender, Ofentse Debete - Phetla, Rebecca Sebelebele, Peter Makaleng, Ntombifuthi Mthethwa, Sheriez Alley, Joseph Makaringe, Mashudu Makhuvha. Niresh Gungadeen, Nitasha Chaithram and Thembakazi Koni (Absent: Kutlwano Sehume, Sarina Fourie and Carsten Wong) #GoldFields #mining #goldmining

🌈 Not your usual blast at a gold mine! It's one of the visible ways our people in Australia showed their support for the LGBTQIA community and its allies during Pride Month. At Gold Fields, we continue working to build a safe and welcoming workplace where everyone feels valued and respected. 🙌 Shout out to the Gruyere team and our business partner, MACA, for coordinating the blast. #GoldFields #mining #goldmining

We acknowledge and respect our First Nations peoples and their lasting connection to lands and culture. This July, we are celebrating National NAIDOC Week with the rest of Australia to honour the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. As part of this, we worked with indigenous-owned agency, Nani Creative, to create a bespoke artwork for our PPE shirts and other items as a visual reminder of our connection to the First Nations people of the Goldfields region. Ironbark, also indigenous-owned and one of our suppliers, has designed the special PPE shirt incorporating the artwork. 👉 🎨More about the artwork: Artist Kevin Wilson, a Wongi man from the Goldfields region, explains that “the artwork explores the idea of traveling across country, particularly the landscape that Gold Fields works within. The work includes animals you may find along the way, the Kangaroo, Emu and the Thorny Devil. It also includes motifs that represent the communities across the land, including water holes and other symbols that represent safe and respectful travels.” #GoldFields #mining #goldmining

In Chile, we recently renewed our cooperation with Fundación Descúbreme, an organisation that promotes the inclusion of people with disabilities in all aspects of life. Since 2021, we've been learning from and collaborating with them to continue building an inclusive, welcoming culture. In line with our commitment to this, we follow Chile's Labor Law for Inclusion, which requires a 1% quota of people with disabilities to work with us. Our EVP for Chile and Peru, Luis Rivera, commented: "Mining is about inclusion, and our company must make a difference. This work is cross-cutting and engages everyone in cultural transformation." _______________ 👉 Find out how we work to creating enduring value for our people in our most recent Report to Stakeholders ➡ https://lnkd.in/dmkhX8Uf #GoldFields #mining #goldmining

When local businesses grow, communities thrive too. In South Africa – home to South Deep – we established the CfSD Incubation Hub to support and develop entrepreneurs in our communities into suppliers for the mine. The hub also provides other services to help local small and medium businesses achieve success – from assisting with company registration and annual returns to advice on loans. Today, on the UN’s Day for Micro, Small and Medium Businesses, learn more about the hub at https://lnkd.in/ga2E2rj8 _______________ 👉 Find out how we work to creating enduring value through host community procurement in our most recent Report to Stakeholders ➡ https://lnkd.in/dmkhX8Uf #GoldFields #mining #goldmining

Education helps build thriving communities and bright futures. That’s why we are proud to be a cornerstone partner of Teach Learn Grow (TLG), a non-profit focused on closing the education gap between city and regional students in Western Australia where our mines are based. On average, math skills are 20 times more likely to be below the minimum level for kids living in very remote areas, and three out of five indigenous students will not finish high school by age 19. In 2023, TLG impacted the lives 458 students by providing 3,942 hours of free one-on-one curriculum-aligned tutoring and mentoring. _______________ 👉 Learn how we work to creating enduring value through investing in education in our most recent Report to Stakeholders ➡ https://lnkd.in/dmkhX8Uf 📷 Courtesy of Teach Learn Grow #GoldFields #mining #goldmining

As part of our ongoing efforts to maintain a high level of tailings oversight, we held our annual Independent Tailings Review Board (ITRB) meetings at Tarkwa in Ghana last month. “Our site teams and Engineer of Records (EoRs) have continued to enhance our practices and made significant progress in executing key tailings projects. The ITRB interrogated our work, and the teams performed exceptionally well. We are also engaging with the ITRB at our Cerro Corona TSF in Peru on a regular basis,” says Johan Boshoff, our VP: Tailings, Closure and Hydrology. In Ghana, the ITRB joined us at our annual engagement with students from the University of Mining and Technology (UMat) to share knowledge on tailings-related topics. _______________ Learn more about our approach to tailings management at https://lnkd.in/djAViYy8 #GoldFields #mining #goldmining

Our Chairperson Yunus S. was invited to the inauguration of South African president Cyril Ramaphosa at the Union Buildings in Pretoria last week. In thanking the Presidency for the invite, he wrote: "On behalf of the 23,000 people working for Gold Fields around the globe, we wish you all the success as you embark on this challenging, but exciting, journey of uniting all South Africans behind a common vision for our beautiful country." #GoldFields #mining #goldmining
