[23/07/2024] EThekwini Maritime Cluster’s first quarter report: The advisory board meeting EMC hosted the first quarter advisory board meeting today. In this meeting stakeholders get the opportunity to review EMC’s programmes and add input on the programmes implemented can be improved. The following reports were presented by: 1. Training and Skills Development - Mr Sibusiso Zondo. 2. Enterprise Supplier Development - Ms Yamkela Nhleko. 3. Aquaculture and Fisheries - Mr Bheka Nembula. 4. Marine Manufacturing - Mr Sandile Dlamini. 5. Industry Promotions - Mrs. Durcan (Industry promotions programme chair). Conducting advisory board quarterly meetings are vital in enhancing EMC's programmes and leveraging external expertise for future programme implementations. The cluster appreciates the time and dedication of each stakeholder with the valuable input that was shared.

The EThekwini Maritime Cluster (EMC) is non-profit organization establish in 2009 with the mandate to support and promote the maritime logistics industry within eThekwini. EMC serves as a co-operative platform with the aim to streamline and integrate highly interrelating functions of the government, public and private sector and a variety of key players. The EMC assists stakeholders in the maritime logistics sector to make informed decisions, react to changing trade patterns and market demand and to exploit and maximize the efficiency levels of the maritime value chain.
