PUTTING RAIL BACK ON THE AGENDA
About us
Following growing concern that South Africa’s transport resources were not being utilised in the most effective manner, the African Rail Industry Association was established initially as an independent transport industry support group in October 2000. The organisation has gone on to become an export council recognised and supported by the Department of Trade, Industry and Competition. As well as, an active lobbying vehicle for industry with all relevant stakeholders in addressing the numerous challenges and barriers to entry the industry faces. ARIA provides independent, objective and technically sound information, advice and expertise to enable decision-makers, interested and affected parties, and other stakeholders to make an informed decision.
