African Vaccine Manufacturing Initiative (AVMI) and Africa CDC, supported by the European Union and the German Government is hosting the WHO Regulatory and Prequalification Team for a Strategy Development Consultation on Facilitating WHO Prequalification Process for African Vaccine Manufacturers in Cape Town, South Africa 7 - 8 October 2024. Today’s agenda revolved around information sharing which encouraged robust discussions, aimed at empowering African vaccine manufacturers on their journey to achieving WHO Prequalification and supplying to global markets. This important intervention part of series of continuing engagements with key stakeholders such as the WHO RPQ team. Key topics included: - Introducing WHO PQ Processes - Opportunities to Accelerate Timelines - Post-PQ Collaborative Procedures - Harmonization & Reliance - Pathway to WLA NRAs AVMI acknowledges the contributions of the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and European Union Delegation to South Africa the Team Europe Initiative for Manufacturing and Access to Vaccines, Medicines, and Health Technology Products (MAV ). We would like to thank GIZ South Africa, Lesotho & eSwatini for their pivotal role as the implementing agency, ensuring the successful realization of this consultation.
