Conversations with Emma is a small Twine game in which I have a conversation with Emma Goldman about gentrification, buying things in Amazon and my obsession with getting subscription boxes.

Emma Goldman, (born June 27, 1869, Kovno (now Kaunas), Lithuania, Russian Empire—died May 14, 1940, Toronto, Ontario, Canada), international anarchist who conducted leftist activities in the United States from about 1890 to 1917. (from: https://www.britannica.com/biography/Emma-Goldman).

You can read all about her in a recent article celebrating her 150 birthday at: https://www.teenvogue.com/story/emma-goldman-born-150-years-ago and read her books and essays for free at: https://theanarchistlibrary.org/category/author/emma-goldman

Interesting experience, cool presentation and witty writing!

tbh, I feel like Emma "If I can't dance, it's not my revolution" Goldman would not be overly concerned about small pleasures under capitalism...

I adore this! never expected to be dragged by name by one of my life long heroes but here we are

I basically imagined my grandmother if she was a more radical leftist

The graphics of this game are really gorgeous! Kind of wish there was music in it but altogether very thought provoking and insightful. I like that you pointed out that leftist scholars of the past might not understand the modern idea of "no ethical consumption under capitalism." We live in such strange, complex times.
