The author copies have arrived! And Deacon is hard at work signing them (and bookplates).
I’ll start sending them out tomorrow in batches of 20 per day. But I’ve got 150 books to send (between LYNLTP and LRPD) so it will take a while to get them all out. I will email you once yours is sent and make posts on all my social media accounts at the end to make sure I haven’t forgotten anyone.

This is Deacon. He is a 2 year old Belgian Malinois and he is my current service dog.
This is Kida. She is a 14 year old Dutch Shepherd and she is my retired service dog.
Kida is smaller and more compact at 50lbs, while Deacon is taller and leaner at 65lbs. Here they are together for comparison:

Please know that Deacon only signs 12 books at a time, with pet safe ink, for a treat after each book, and a cuddle after each dozen. He’s a Union Dog.

Also apparently I’ve become one of those people that sounds like an idiot when they talk to their dog. I promise, when I’m working with him I don’t talk like this.
Ok I've received some messages asking about the cover design process for LRPD and it's really quite simple: I messaged @it-is-ineffable to see if they were open to a cover art commission like, yeah I want it to look something like this??
And Jick was like "Np. I got you":

And we’ve been working on the cover for book two. In which I sent an even worse rough draft:

Now we're finalizing the tag line and I'll have the real actual cover for book two to share in just a few days! :)

Got really grossly catcalled while walking Deacon looking like this. I can only assume they were on drugs of the hallucinogenic variety. Either that or catcalling is less about actual interest and more about weak men using hostile sexism to assert dominance via women’s discomfort. But like. Who knows which one? 🤷🏻♀️🤔
Also, the audacity of pulling this shit on a woman walking a Belgian Malinois. I know you’ve seen videos of these fur missiles in action while sitting on the toilet scrolling your hypermasculine military propaganda social media feeds. You try any of the shit you’re talking and you’ll find out first hand what a Malinois teeth can do to human flesh.
I view it as a personal victory when the copyeditor leaves content notes. I got three on LRPD, two on LYNLTP and have just broken the record today with FOUR on AHTU. To quote said editor: hell yeah.
Also, this means we’re not only on track but ahead of schedule for late winter/ early spring publication. Hurray!
