payment requirements

  • I can only accept PayPal (£gbp preferred, but $usd is okay too) through goods & services or Cashapp. (to make it easier for me, if using my ‘PayPal . Me’ link, if you could leave a note- in PayPal when sending the payment with: character name, what the payment is for or something- that would be great. Same with leaving a note on Cashapp.)

  • When the commission has been approved by me, Xelwave, I will send you an invoice or my PayPal/CashApp link to be paid.

  • Payment is to be paid in full, up-front before I start the commission.

  • Any major changes will incur an extra fee. ”major changes”- such as, but not limited to, background changes, expression changes, outfit changes etc. Things such as mistakes with character markings do not incur this charge.

  • I only allow refunds before sketch approval. Please keep this in mind.

  • Inappropriate, rude or bigoted behaviour and the like is not tolerated and your commission will be cancelled if deemed necessary.

  • If I find out you partake or support any of the following and similar, you will be blacklisted and blocked and if applicable your commission will be cancelled: racism, any kind of bigoted phobia, MAGA/trump supporting, zoos, pedos, “map”, “all lives matter” etc.

  • I have the right to decline a commission request without an explanation.

  • You must own the rights to the character you are commissioning artwork for. gift art is okay, but claiming someone else’s character as yours is not.

  • I will judge if the character/piece is complex or not.

  • I do not work to deadlines.

  • If you are under 18 years of age you accept your responsibility to receive parent/guardian permission to send payment.

  • Please provide a clear reference sheet. If the reference is traditional, you must provide a digital colour palette for me to refer to. I do not work with descriptions (unless a custom commission of course).

  • My art style is quite fluid. Meaning sometimes my lineweight, brush type or anatomy style can differ at times. Please let me know if you want a specific ‘style’ by sending me a picture or link to a piece I have done previously in a specific way and make it known to me you’d like me to emulate that specific line type/shading style etc. otherwise I will draw how best fits me at the time.

  • My tos are susceptible to change without prior warning.

Copyright/usage policy

As the artist, I can:

  • retain the rights to my work that I create.

  • Use the artwork for self-promotion purposes, display it where I like and share/post. (Unless it was discussed and agreed on beforehand that you would like it to be a private commission).

  • Refuse service for any reason if I deem it necessary.

As the client, you can:

  • re-post the full artwork with credit and a link back to me/my user @.

  • Use the art to promote yourself only if you give proper full credit to me as per point above.

  • Print the artwork for personal use only.

  • Claim copyright of your character(S) but not the piece itself.

As the client, you cannot:

  • Deface/drastically change the artwork.

  • Claim the artwork as your own.

  • Remove my watermark/signature.

  • Reproduce or use the artwork commercially- this included but is not limited to; selling merch, promoting your brand, using in comics/book covers, using in monetised YouTube videos/YouTube banners (unless agreed otherwise) etc.

  • Using the artwork to trace or heavily reference from.

  • all of the above is considered copyright infringement and the breaking of any of my tos will have repercussions.

Hi there! I’m Xelwave! Nicknames you can feel free to call me are Xelwave (Xel, Xelly etc!) Kite, Kage or Kade!I’m a UK based digital artist specialising in anthropomorphic critters. My style morphs about a lot, but my main aim is to draw more anatomically accurately.
