I guess I will start with the bad news...if they make a mistake, like eh let's say, not giving you part of your order when you use the online ordering...don't expect anything from them that's says "sorry bout that!" Not even a free pint of anything. So check your orders!!
Ok, no pictures because there is enough posted. The moist brisket comes with far too much fat cap that isn't rendered. Tasty but I was waiting for a heart attack even after I cut four ounces of fat off. So the price is actually for 12 ounces of meat not 16. The ribs are good. Both baby back and the St. Louis style. Not stellar but good. The lean brisket is good but needs sauce as it is a bit dry. The two items that knocked my socks off that will keep me coming back for more and more and more is the new potatoes and three bean salad! Oh my are they out of this world tasty!! Coleslaw is good but average. White bread is moist and they provided ample sauces with my orders.
I will definitely be back for more but feel someone should have done something for leaving out part of my order. I specifically asked them when they handed me my orders...are you certain everything is there? I was in a hurry and took their word for it and a pound of ribs were not in the order. I couldn't return to the store until today to pick it up. That sucked. Oh one more thing, go in...I waited in my vehicle like the sign said, and nobody after 15 minutes checked on any one of the three vehicles patiently waiting. That irritated me because I paid 50 cents to get cash back at Smith's so I had a tip for the attendant! I asked the manager today if they were still doing curbside and he assured me they are. He said, "we were probably busy". Well, if you can't service your customers, you'll be less busy. If you don't make a good faith gesture when you screw up...you'll be less busy. With that said, everyone was very polite and nice. My three orders totaled over 127.00 btw... -

So glad we stopped!!! Had some country barbecue and it was perfectly delic! Had a pulled pork, ribs and brisket. Moist, juicy and wow! I loved the Three bean salad and green Chile stew! My son had to share his loaded potato because it was huge! Yes we had to try it all!!! Thank you for the great atmosphere.... Definitely a road trip stop!!!!

À la carte dinning in a casual atmosphere; a great place to for the good protein!
I have been going here now and then for years and I have had the Brisket both moist and lean, Turkey Breast, Chopped Meat, and Pulled Pork; all have been great! If you like picnic style side dishes these are a few of my favorites--Potato Salad, Rudy's Beans, Three Bean Salad, Cream Corn, Cole Slaw and Corn on the Cob. I love the plastic cups for drinks! If you are a BBC sauce connoisseur, then you may not be thrilled with Rudy's Bar-B-Q or Sissy Sauce (basically HOT or NOT).
This is a great place to pick-up items for a company lunch or family picnic! The seating is basically long picnic benches, so you get to know your neighbors. Because there is a lot of traffic during lunch, it can get a bit warm and sometimes an occasional fly won't leave you alone. Sometimes tables and drink stations can get a little sticky. The staff is okay; they get your order done, but sometimes with no personality. -

Reaching back into the memory banks for this review, here. Way back in 2012, I discovered Yelp Albuquerque for the first time, to call it a revelation would be an understatement. The first thing I checked over were the Top 10 restaurants in ABQ. #1: Kokoro, a Japanese joint I'd never heard of. #2: Rudy's. I knew about that one. It was that BBQ spot that I liked, not local, but the meats were sure fine. It was that place where I typically waited in line a while, looking over the iced beer chests, refrigerated side items (potato salad, three bean salad), occasionally scoffing at the employees wearing those lame t-shirts that read something like "I didn't climb to the top of the food chain to eat vegetables". Great brisket, I thought. Took a while to order, but good stuff. Still, #2 in our city? How now, cow?
I don't visit this place much. It's very franchise-ee, clean, polished, everything in order, not the kind of experience I crave when a smokey barbecue grubdown is in order. Communal tables with bottles of mild and spicy sauce scattered about, plenty of paper towels for your grimy digits. But the other day, a friend ordered a takeout layout of the basics around here: turkey, pork loin and the afore-mentioned brisket. I was really hungry, I think I ate three plates, and I kept coming back to the brisket. Holy cow. (Bah-dum-bum.) So, so slammin'. Honestly, I swear upon these peppered red meaties, douse 'em in the hot sauce and prepare to be spoiled.
Second best in ABQ? Nope. Currently, Rudy's ranks at #56 on the best restaurant list. We can attribute this to 1) the astounding growth of the Yelp community over the past few years and 2) the incredible BBQ choices that have landed in this metro since then. But Rudy's remains pretty darn fine. And if you're considering ordering a feast, my advice: just pile on the brisket. With the spicy sauce. Order a few sleds of corn on the cob. Crowd pleaser, for sure. And I don't know if they're still offering breakfast burritos, but if they are, and you're considering one, just don't do it. Don't. Steer clear. (Bah-dum-bum.)
