Small intimate atmosphere. Classic and strong cocktails. My sazerac was bitter and indeed on point. Star of the visit was the night"s special, a lamb curry stew over jasmine rice. Piano singer added a welcome jazzy soundtrack to the cozy ambiance. Prices were reasonable - entrees including steak were under $30. Highly recommend.

The food delicious (though smaller portions) and atmosphere is cozy and nice. Definitely a little, hidden gem that"s been around since 1978! especially with the live, acoustic music almost nightly.

Our realtor suggested we end our day of house hunting in this cozy place that offered a little hint of a speak easy vibe! We decided to kick off our Saturday night on the town with some old fashions and two appetizers.

All of it was FANTASTIC! The drink was not only well prepared, but it came with a generous pour... and the apps were delicious.

We will come here often in the future as we enjoyed the live music and intimate tables that offered an adult evening of fun and romance.

A hidden gem! There was amazing local music tonight, a great feature. I had two appetizers, both delicious. The service was very friendly and efficient. I am here for work for a bit and will definitely be back.

This is a small unassuming restaurant just at the edge of the core downtown area, but it was worth a visit. The menu offers American style dishes with choices for everyone, though quite limited for vegetarians. The portions are large but they permit sharing. In our case they were more than willing to split the grilled salmon in the kitchen for no extra charge. The salmon was delicious and was served with buttered rice and steamed vegetables on the side.
The ambiance is geared towards the younger crowd with dim lighting and tables close together. We asked to be seated under a lamp so we could see each other and the menu!

Ask for Nicky! She will make your dinner out over the top!!

The Redwood Room is a winner in food, service, and ambiance categories. We had a great meal. I had a pizza and my wife had a chicken-basil pasta dish with a wonderful light sauce. Our server was excellent and all patrons seemed to be getting excellent service. But the ambience was what really did it for me. A little dark, excellent jazz duo playing great music at a reasonable volume. Really enjoyed the speakeasy vibe. Will definitely be back next time I"m in Rochester.

Started with good drinks, including my amazing old fashioned!!! Appys of bruschetta and risotto balls were both very good. Bruschetta with basil we"re 5 small pieces, but great basil flavor. Risotto balls were good with nice sauce.

We ordered salad, pizza and chicken for our food. Although the Thai pizza is one of their best sellers, none of us liked it or would order it again. Just strange flavors for a pizza on a different texture of herb flavored crust.

This a a great place for date night! The staff is amazing! The atmosphere is incredible takes you back in time been there twice and the live music has been incredible! Had the apple sauce pork chops this past visit one of the best I have ever tasted, completely amazing!

Food is great and the staff are always great. The live music makes the mood too. The Embry Old Fashioned is one of, if not the best, anywhere.
