Amazing all around and so cute!
Really great service (Alac - she had lots of recommendations & was super personable) loved our cocktails and the food was incredible!
For drinks we got:
The Lavender 75 (probably the best lavender drink I've ever had - and I've tried many)
Bloody Mary's (with the cutest side car).
For food we had:
The Harvest Quiche (delicious vegetarian option w. a crisp salad on the side), an add on pancake (omg...SO good. The is amazing)
The Chicken & Grits (so colorful and flavorful)
and If it Ain't broke (classic breakfast, but better. The potatoes looked awesome!)
Oh and a side biscuit (wow - never had a biscuit like that, very good!)
Definitely a good brunch spot. We for sure will be back - we heard the dinners are really good there too! I don't typically write reviews but it was such a good experience, I had to share!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - James K.Lansing, MI390291Jul 26, 2024Updated review6 check-ins
Very nice breakfast menu, short read, one-sided, and keeps a fresh food.
Our waiter was very good and answered our questions about the menu. The Peoples Kitchen is well maintained, and there is lots of seating available. Very well lite, windows that let in the light. One reason I like to come to this restaurant is not only the food and service is you can actually carry on conversations without raising your voice.
You can walk in or call for a reservation.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Oct 1, 2019Previous reviewVery nice place, simple menu with many options. Full bar, beer and wine. We were seated within a few minutes of entering The People's Kitchen. We were lucky enough to catch them between breakfast and lunch, normally a much longer wait.Pretty clean and fast service, noise level relaxing. I had the eggs, potatoes, bacon, toast, side of toast, coffee. Really liked the breakfast not expensive $$/about 14.00 per person.

Brunch at The People's Kitchen hits all the marks--creative and delicious dishes, prompt and friendly service (we were seated right away), and a cool industrial-hipster vibe. The patio also looks like the perfect spot to enjoy brunch when the weather warms up. Might just be the best brunch spot in Lansing for foodies.

The food was amazing and the staff was great and helpful with suggestions. Drink menu seemed a little limited. Higher end prices so not the best spot for kids. I forgot to post when this happened in July so I don't remember much else. Worth a look though based on food, staff and ambiance.

There is accessible parking available which is great for east lansing. Also there are seats inside and outside. The ambiance inside is great. Plenty of colorful pieces of art on the walls. The service was pretty good. The server was knowledgeable on recommendations. We got the mussels as an appetizer and they were good. Nothing too great that I would order again but they were good. The ribeye on the other hand was amazing. Perfectly cooked to a medium rare temperature just like I wanted. The potatoes that came with the burger were also delicious. The burger itself was huge! The dessert is a must try! We tried two different ones and they were delicious!

If you are in the MSU area and you need a quick bite to eat from a solid burger joint, then People's Kitchen may be perfect for you. Everyone one at our table got the same burger and smash potatoes. We were all very satisfied. The restaurant is pretty big with both patio, indoor & bar seating available. Also shouts out to the waiter she was super nice and patience with us.

People's Kitchen is a welcoming establishment with superb energy and decor.
We have enjoyed them in the past for an occasional breakfast or work lunch.
Most recently, we have appreciated the "pop-up's" they have been offering. We joined them for Caviar and Cocktails and were well pleased!
Each piece of caviar was beautifully constructed and the melody of flavors was spot on. The French 75 was a perfect accompaniment for my palette!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Brenda R.Sandston, VA0161Dec 6, 2024
Good cocktails and reliably good food. The Brussels sprouts are always amazing. Love the warm, casual-hip ambience. Service is top notch. Great for a quick dinner at the bar or night out on the town. Highly recommend.

This is THE place to get brunch in Lansing (I don't make the rules). It's very accessible, and parking in the back is easy. Seating is quick, and the ambience is fun and quirky. I had a really good Irish coffee the last time I went, but the real star of the show is the food! The lemon pancakes are decadent but not too sweet and ever so fluffy. Likewise, the short rib eggs benedict is so rich and flavorful, and I left feeling full and satisfied. The meal was also not exorbitantly priced, which I greatly appreciated. They have plenty of room for larger parties, it seems, and I would definitely bring all of my friends here!

I'm from Atlanta and I visited here on a Thursday night with my boyfriend. I must say I was quite impressed. My boyfriend, who's from the area, mentioned he never been here before but heard great things about it. People's kitchen is a cute spot with a diversity of foods. The menu seems to change quite often when trying to compare dishes on the current menu with those in yelp but it was okay. I ordered the roasted chicken which was very juicy and tender, was paired with string beans, haricot, almonds, mushrooms and wedged potatoes over a bed of orange sauce. The sauce was really good, reminded me of a un-hot buffalo sauce. Sauce wasn't overbearing and paired with the dish perfectly. I ordered the Hey Girl Hey cocktail which was really fresh and flavorful. My date got Lamb Kafta he said it was delicious. He paired his lamb with a Blackberry Lemonade Cocktail and said it was "fire" aka really good. lol Ultimately a really good spot for diverse foods and crafted cocktails. Would definitely revisit.
