This is another fun and unique place to try downtown Fort Wayne. Coffee and Cocktails are the best was to describe Penny Drip. It makes a great place to stop after dinner if you aren't sure if you want coffee or another cocktail.
The facility is small and so is the parking lot. If you can't get one of the five spots outside the store..,then turn will have to drive around the block to find some street parking. This can be annoying as you have to pay attention to the knee way streets. This building is relatively new and has some nice outside seating right by the busy street.
Upon entering the building you could find things to be confusing. The middle section of the building is a barber shop. It is a little odd to open the first door you come to and walk into a barber shop. The end section of the building, which does have its own entry, is Penny Drip.
Inside Penny Drip is a long bar with rail/wall seating and some table seating. There isn't a lot of room for people to come and lounge. But people come and go quickly. The inside is attractive and well decorated. Things are welcoming and comfortable.
The team here is very friendly and helpful. They were out of several things my wife tried to order. The bar tender invested some time and got to know her tastes and then created something. Nicely done.
Food isn't the major thing on the menu. We came after dinner and ordered a chocolate chip cookie as dessert. The cookie was warm and seemed freshly baked. The edges were slightly crispy so you could break off pieces or dunk them.
I order the best gin and soda as this seemed to be a house special. The drink was served in a tall glass with an attractive block of ice. The gin was very mild or watered down. There wasn't a strong aftertaste like you get with many gin products. The soda was plain without much sweet flavoring. Overall the drink was very refreshing.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Dec 8, 20242 check-ins
Fresh salad with lots of flavor. Solid portion size, I had enough to leftover to snack on it later in the day.

We needed a little caffeine before a late show, so our options were limited. But we were so lucky to stumble upon Penny Drip. Loved the vibe here and the bartenders/baristas were awesome. Drinks were fairly inexpensive. We had a matcha latte and a pistachio cappuccino. Both delicious. Definitely stop in here!

Cool spot downtown FW - anything from coffee to beer and breakfast sandwiches to lunch options. Bar seating, high tops and low top tables as well as some tucked away couch seating for more private/quiet space if needed. Service is great, food is great, atmosphere is great, only insider tip might be to prepare for street parking as the attached lot has limited space.

Industrial-style bar and cafe with a chai spice aroma encapsulating the space.
Things you should know:
I. PARKING
There is a free, private parking lot to the left of the building, sharing spaces with the neighboring barber shop. Easy and convenient. Plenty of spots open around 1pm on a weekday!
II. SERVICE
Timely
III. QUALITY
The black Americano I ordered here isn't as dense and acidic as I'm used to. A little watered down but the price is unbeatable..! Then again, I'm visiting from metro Atlanta, so prices in Fort Wayne, in general, seem more affordable..!
IV. CAPACITY
Fair amount of available seating around 1pm on a weekday. Seems like a good spot to camp out and knock out some work or catch up with friends. It's not too loud either.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Andrew B.IN, IN057Dec 3, 2024
I was excited to try this place out as it is in a cool location and has a nice atmosphere. I was not really impressed though with the quality of the drinks for the cost of them. All the menu items felt to be too highly priced for what you get in terms of flavor and quantity. The food/drinks were not awful or anything, they were just not anything special. The only thing earning this place 3/5 stars is the kind staff and unique vibe of the restaurant. I would say to just try some place else.

Penny Drip is such a fun spot! Yesterday we went for a drink after a movie at The Cinema Center -- had a Cowboy Coffee, which was tasty and balanced. I love that you can always get a coffee or a cocktail and both are delicious, and $5 Old Fashioneds on Tuesdays make for a nice tradition! The menu is small, but complete. I have had a great salad there, yummy pretzel bites with cheese, the pickle pizza (YUM!) and an outstanding breakfast sandwich. Plus, the my servers are always very helpful and friendly!

The food is always simple yet complex in flavor and the service is fast! The big window with a breeze and the patio area really let you enjoy the downtown atmosphere. Super cute space and I love the ceiling with the copper embossed tiles! Great spot to visit if traveling morning or night! The cowboy coffee was delicious and the dill in the egg sandwich gave it a special creative touch to a casual breakfast sandwich. They also have a barber shop if you're in need of a trim ;)

A really nice spot in downtown Fort Wayne. Went here on a Saturday morning. Restaurant space is very clean with some tables and bar seating. Staff was very friendly and service was great. They have lots of caffeine options for the morning but also a great assortment of cocktails. Both the avocado toast and breakfast sandwich were great. Prices are very reasonable. I would definitely recommend checking this place out.

My wife and I love this place for a pre-dinner drink and maybe a flatbread or warm pretzel with beer cheese. Don't miss the coffee Negroni, black margarita, homemade gin and soda, or the cowboy coffee!!
