We traveled all the way from the Twin Cities to check out Bebap, and overall, we had a fantastic experience! The highlight was definitely the Korean fried chicken--it was absolutely perfect, crispy, and full of flavor. The dumplings were delicious, with just the right amount of filling.
One surprise was the bulgogi tacos; I had never tried them before and I'm so glad I did! They were juicy and perfectly seasoned, making for a unique twist.
However, I had higher expectations for the kimchi fried rice, which was a bit of a letdown, and the corn cheese didn't quite meet my hopes either.
Overall, a great spot with some standout dishes, but a couple could use improvement. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone in the area!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 110183257Jul 17, 2024

The heart of Rochester holds a Korean restaurant that keeps its authentic flavors. We ordered a variety of foods and they were all really authentic, even the kimchi and side dishes...I was actually not expecting this.
My family and I had a great time here and plan on coming back. I recommend the seafood pancake.
Has both indoor and outdoor, we sat outdoor with 4 folks and for the amount of food we ordered, the table itself was physically too small...
The service was great though and just a great experience.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Cynthia S.Queen Creek, AZDec 7, 2024

Visited the newest addition to the Rochester dining scene with a friend for Saturday lunch.
Upon entering, we were immediately seated and greeted with friendly service. Decor was cute and the local artists did a great job.
Menu was a more focused, subset of the dinner menu so if you're expecting to try all the dishes, you may consider visiting during dinner.
One thing to keep in mind that this is "Korean inspired food," so that was one thing I had to level set with my friend as he was comparing it to what you'd find in the Cities or in Korea. Obviously this is not going to matter if you never had Korean food as it is dependent on any sort of benchmark that you may have. Also, Korean food is some of the cheapest to make, but due to the global influence and cultural export, a lot of these places (outside of OG Korean grandma establishments) are able to command a premium so expect to be paying $15-30 for an individual entree / appetizer that may or may not fill you up
Ordered
- Japchae (3/5). Friend ordered and it was a bit sweet. There wasn't as much color in terms of veggies (maybe 2-3 strips of carrots?) and the sweet potato noodles were a bit too soggy. A pretty simple dish to make at home (YouTube has some good tutorials) so hopefully a few more iterations and this dish can be improved.
- Bibimbap (3.5/5). This was directionally in the right direction in terms of taste, texture, and overall presentation. The red sauce should theoretically be put to the side in case you'd like to control the heat. I did add an extra $5 for the bulgogi (making this dish $25...). If you look at dinner menu, this same dish is $22 $5 for bulgogi.
- Banchan (?). We were confused as we saw the note on top of menu of "one complimentary banchan service per table," but never saw any that arrived. Frankly, we forgot about this aspect of Korean cuisine until we saw other tables with their side dishes... This is a given and should always be refilled at no extra cost especially if you're getting the big margins from the premium pricing
- Soju. Ordered some soju. Not giving a rating since it's sourced from a B2B but always goes well with greasy, hearty eats.
Overall, this may be a nice option to take your business colleagues, celebrate a milestone, or escape for a date night. Food wise - there's opportunities to elevate its flavors. Cheers.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Kim M.Waterloo, IA270172Oct 6, 2024
Great concept, beautiful restaurant, they are honest in the name of the restaurant that the Korean aspect is inspired. It's not truly authentic... Service was a little awkward/difficult. One meal came out first the other at least 15 minutes later. Flavors were good, but definitely modified for the midwest palate.

Im glad I was finally able to try Bebap since they have been open for about a year. I tried a few dishes all where solid considering this type of food is not my favorite. The highlights where some of their crafted drinks invented by the staff and their hospitality. Service was a little slow and it would have been nice to get a water container for the table as our water was never refilled. There spices where mild enough to help bridge anyone looking to try some korean cuisine.

VEGAN REVIEW.
Came here the third or so week it was opened! First, the ambiance is beautiful! I really think the restaurant is beautiful and really gives it that hole in the wall fancy place vibes.
It took quite a bit of time to get seated and while service wasn't bad. It was clear that they were trained on the floor alone. Which sucks! The food itself is absolutely Korean inspired. The japchae was super soggy (like porridge). The banchan only consisted of two things which were subpar, dolsot bibimbap was room temperature to cold, and the toppings in it were not traditional. It also consisted of the two ban chan. It didn't taste really great, very bland. It actually took a long time to get my dish because it was messed up three times. Honestly not sure if my dish was corrected or if they just took off the unwanted ingredients. Overall, really nice concept. Maybe i'd try again in the future when the restaurant settles down and establishes themselves better.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 1 - Stacey T.Green Hill, TNAug 9, 2024
This place is super clean and cozy. The service was top notch, above and beyond. I had the pork dumplings, beef fried rice and black sesame seed ice cream. All were beyond my expectations and I have leftovers enough for at least two more meals.
