Motivation
[edit]This property should be used for both persons and groups. It can be also used for creative works (songs). WikiData already has a similar property - MetroLyrics ID -- OneMusicDream (talk) 22:04, 27 July 2018 (UTC)

- Oppose I believe we've previously decided not to have properties for pages on Wiki wikis. Furthermore, the site is packed with copyright violations. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 16:38, 28 July 2018 (UTC)
- WikiData already has a similar property - MetroLyrics ID (P2624) - the fact that entries (links to the items on those sites) are maintained by a Wiki or something else should be irrelevant. MetroLyrics even has more commercial ads than LyricsWiki, that makes the later preferable. OneMusicDream (talk) 20:09, 30 July 2018 (UTC)
- @OneMusicDream: You seem to be misunderstanding Andy's point: we shouldn't link directly to Lyrically pages on Wikidata for the same reason that we don't link to Baidu's encyclopedia—to do so would be to condone copyright violations, which MetroLyrics IIRC takes care to remove as needed but which isn't true of Lyrically. Mahir256 (talk) 20:29, 30 July 2018 (UTC)
- I understand. I'm just curious: what is MetroLyrics doing to avoid copyright violations that LyricsWikia (Lyrically) is not doing? OneMusicDream (talk) 20:33, 30 July 2018 (UTC)
- @OneMusicDream: I don't actually know myself; seeing as they're run by a subsidiary of a large American entertainment company, they most likely honor DMCA requests and agreements with other record labels as needed to prevent such infringements. I'm not sure any group of people on Wikia could take up the same task on Lyrically very easily. Mahir256 (talk) 20:37, 30 July 2018 (UTC)

- Support Sorry Andy, but it seems that at the bottom of the page it says "Lyrics licensed by LyricFind" Germartin1 (talk) 11:47, 12 September 2018 (UTC)
