Motivation

[edit]

European Union started this month the official portal for out of commerce works. Also available is an id for an creator. Currently there is no direct deeplink but the people behind the portal reacted positive to create one in the future. Meanwhile it will be very useful to keep track of the creators in that database for cultural institutions. --Hannolans (talk) 22:33, 21 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Discussion

[edit]

I am not sure whether the identifiers are uniquely tied to a persons. The EU Out Of Commerce (OOC) database allows all heritage institutions to upload a collection of works with attached creatoes. I assume they will assign unique identifiers per person per institutions and not deduplicate them. This could lead to having multiple EUIPO OoC-name ids per person in Wikibase.
