duplicate publication authors
[edit]Nice work on Potential duplicates/ZooBank vs ORCID.
It looks like Helen Ward (Q25450864) and Helen Ward (Q43193512) are different people, but I'm not quite certain enough to tag them with different from (P1889) yet. —Scs (talk) 11:35, 7 May 2020 (UTC)
You said here that "Mapping Baidu Baike IDs can be useful for many projects.", well, beside its closure, have you ever read the zh:WP:BD? Since the 2006 creation of Baidu Baike, it has been confirmed that they have too many articles and pictures that their sources are unknown, especially many of those are from Wikipedias and our sister projects. While Baidu claimed that each services are having their own copyright policies, it is however that they never agree any removal trials of "©2024 Baidu" on every Baidu webpages, this results many copyrightable articles and media contents, or any web-foundable copyright free contents, that are usually Public Domain, some rights reserved (licensed as CC or GNU licenses), can be wrongly considered as so-called "copyrighted by Baidu", which is confirmed by EFF as dangerous for every free content websites. And for Baidu Baike's inquiry service, as someone from zhwiki tried, is rather a non-sense robot program, they never do anythings senseful per inquires, only say that their website is "open" and suggests to modify inapproprate contents. --Liuxinyu970226 (talk) 14:46, 24 May 2020 (UTC)
- Liuxinyu970226: Given the size of Baidu Baike, as far as I can tell the amount of copyright infringement that it contains is far lower than Wikipedia's copyright infringement from other sources. In any case, I don't see how evaluating copyright procedures is relevant at all for Wikidata mapping identifiers across sources. --MarioGom (talk) 10:45, 11 October 2020 (UTC)
- @MarioGom @Shadess @YFdyh000 @Stevenliuyi @ArthurPSmith I Support Baidu Baike ID. I found some CALIS ID (P270) have added Baidu Baike (Q803722) as a external link. BTW, English Wikipedia (Q328) also includes Template:Baidu Baike (Q104804206), which use lemmaId as the external id and the lemmaID can be found on a specific page. For example, Li Hung-chang (Q378517) has a Baidu Baike LemmaID - 21591. Qian Xuesen (Q333500) has a Baidu Baike LemmaID - 4213. Kangxi Emperor (Q17790) is 2475
- Baidu Baike (Q803722) may have some problems, but it's a userful resource/supplement for a Chinese topic and it has a stable link than a institue offical webpage. Kethyga (talk) 08:41, 30 November 2021 (UTC)

Interview Invitation
[edit]Greetings,
I noticed your message on Wikidata project chat, which led me to look up your profile. Thank you for all the hard work!
I’m reaching out to you because I’m working on a research project about understanding what motivates editors like you to contribute to Wikidata. We’re also interested in learning about how you feel your contributions are being used outside of Wikidata. Since you are such an active community member, I thought you might also be interested in helping to build the broader community’s knowledge about Wikidata, and why it matters.
If you’re interested, let’s schedule a time to talk over Zoom, or whichever platform you prefer. You could leave a direct message or fill in a questionnaire. The conversation should take about 30 min.
Hope you have a great day,

[edit]Hi MarioGom :-) For your information, I merged the Q98458043 item into the Q21388320 one. I see that you have a link to the first one (I moved others to Q21388320). Have a great day. Regards Givet (talk) 17:05, 12 March 2024 (UTC)
- Same idea with Lawrence M. Page (Q22111358 and duplicated item Q62518226) merged to the Q22111358 page. Givet (talk) 17:13, 12 March 2024 (UTC)
