How to distinguish if such a redirect is "intentional" or not?
[edit]--Liuxinyu970226 (talk) 00:29, 5 July 2020 (UTC)
- I'm not sure what you mean. The creator of a redirect on a sister site meant for that page to redirect to the specified target. The person who puts an 'intentional redirect' badge on a sitelink is intentionally marking that sitelink as such. That much is clear. Where there may be ambiguity, and why this badge exists, is one of two situations: someone added a sitelink that, when they added it, was not a redirect, and if they knew that it was now a redirect they might change the sitelink (but we don't know if they know, so it's ambiguous); or, someone added a sitelink to what was at the time a redirect page, but they may have done so mistakenly. - @Arlo Barnes: Your answers really don't help at a galance, too many new users on zhwiki concerns their Wikidata-linked redirects, that their badges are randomly set, I'm not waiting another answer like "hey I think it's intentional redirect so I marked it as intentional redirect, I don't think that redirect is intentional so I instead mark the non-intentional one", I'm asking that how can a Wikidata-linked redirect be intentional, in short, the conditions of this. --Liuxinyu970226 (talk) 11:13, 29 October 2020 (UTC)
- I think there might be a language barrier, I'm having some trouble understanding what you wrote; perhaps one of the Wikidatans at category:user_zh-N has an opinion on this issue. Anyway, I don't see why zhwiki editors (or editors of any language edition of Wikipedia) should have to care what badge their article is linked with unless they are also Wikidatans. A Wikidata editor should make sure the badges are truthful, so that articles that are not featured articles don't get the featured article badge (for instance)...is your concern that it is not clear when 'intentional redirect' can be used truthfully or not? How to intentionally sitelink redirect?
[edit]Is it only permitted to confirmed users? Everytime I try to add the badge, even when the sitelink is already entered, it says "Could not save due to an error. The save has failed. Perhaps the items should be merged. Ask at d:Wikidata:Interwiki conflicts if you believe that they should not be merged.".--Kautr (talk) 10:18, 28 April 2021 (UTC)
- @Kautr: Not even permitted to confirmed users. It's a known problem, that the development team are working to fix (ticket phab:T278962). It may be possible to add the badge, if the target wikipage is temporarily turned from a redirect into an ordinary page, and then back. But for the moment, probably best to wait until the dev team have fixed the issue. Shouldn't be long now, it been classed as "prioritized" to fix. Jheald (talk) 12:00, 28 April 2021 (UTC)
- Now possible This was resolved in October 2022. See: Wikidata:Sitelinks to redirects. Aluxosm (talk) 11:36, 16 March 2024 (UTC)
Deutsche Bezeichnung
