An item is not a Wikimedia page ! He has a Wikimedia page associated, that's different. There is two URIS for an item : the identifier URI http://www.wikidata.org/entity/Q16222597 and the wiki page http://www.wikidata.org/entity/Q16222597 (for this page as an example). See Wikidata:Glossary#Item
Message from the creator
[edit]Not a joke. Maybe it exists already but I didn't found it. It could be usefull for third-party usage to define the nature of the documentary unit of Wikidata. --Shonagon (talk) 23:22, 8 April 2014 (UTC)
What is it?
[edit]When I first saw this I was quick to put in instance of (P31) Wikidata item (Q16222597) [1], but now I not sure that this is correct. Any opinions? :-) — Finn Årup Nielsen (fnielsen) (talk) 18:05, 20 November 2015 (UTC)
- Subclass of Wikidata entity? --- Jura 16:23, 24 November 2015 (UTC)
- I'd say "type of modelisation unit". author TomT0m / talk page 17:27, 24 November 2015 (UTC)
- What for this self-reference? --Infovarius (talk) 12:55, 25 November 2015 (UTC)
- Maybe the answer is somewhere in this items : Meta-Object Facility (Q866209) or related meta-modelling technologies. author TomT0m / talk page 13:00, 25 November 2015 (UTC)
- The nice is thing about the self-reference is that it fills the slot ;) --- Jura 13:38, 25 November 2015 (UTC)
- Another riddle… Even if adding self-referential instance-of statement in this case was entirely correct, adding also instance-of: self reference would be probably incorrect, but I can't explain why… something to do with meta levels ? —Mykhal (talk) 23:20, 16 December 2023 (UTC)
Merge with WikibaseItem datatype
[edit]I think it's sub-optimal to merge the two.
