English/French IDs

[edit]

NFB films have 2 IDs—one in English on nfb.ca, and one in French on onf.ca. (Example: The Romance of Transportation in Canada (Q2413979) has romance_of_transportation_canada and sports_et_transports.) Including both with the appropriate language as a qualifier seems to make sense. However, I would like to create a Wikipedia external link template, and I'm not sure if it's possible for Wikipedia to pull just one value from here, based on a qualifier. Is there a way to do that? Or, if not, would it make sense to propose a second property, so that each language has its own? Trivialist (talk) 01:47, 17 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
