English: A macro of scaptia lata (aka "coliguacho" and "tabano negro" in Spanish) taken on 11-Feb-2010 at one of the look-out points ("miradors") on the road up the Osorno Volcano in southern Chile. The fly is about two centimeters long.
The insect is on Jason's left shoulder and the photo was taken by Anna using his camera. The image was cropped and exported from the original using GIMP.
