Unpopular opinion: I like adverbs in small doses. "He smiled hideously" is one of my favorite lines ever. From Sapkowski's The Witcher series.
My poison: dark fantasy with jarring cruelty, morally grey hero(ines), and devillish unrequited romance. 😈
