Racetrack Higgins, a Manhattan Newsie. Spot Conlon's best friend and crush, not that they would admit that they have crushes on each other. No one knows about Racetrack's past, and not many people bothered to ask, until he started babying scars. He refused to tell them, but when Spot, then Race himself, gets kidnapped one day, how will they find and save Race and Spot? He'd be forced to tell them his past. Kat Kelly: independent, sarcastic, and younger sister of Jack. NOT someone who needs "protection" by the reluctant King of Brooklyn himself, Spot Conlon. But when Spot and Kat start to catch feelings and word gets out about Kat being Jack's sister, the newsies find out that some people will do anything to stop the strike, including harming Kat. Based on the 1992 movie, but anyone can read!

Jazzer Higgins is Racetrack's long lost twin sister who has just made her way to Manhattan after escaping the girls version of the Refuge. She is glad to find her brother, and make new friends as a newsie. When the newsies start a strike, they need the help of all the newsies in New York. When nobody wants to go to Brooklyn, Jazzer offers, but Racetrack tries to keep her from going. She persuades him to let her go, and she meets Spot Conlon for the first time. At first she doesn't like him. in fact, she hates him, but he seems attracted to her. She begins to fall for him, but will they hae these feelings forever? Fate is the deciding factor.

That’s when Leslie meets Spot Conlon, the fast talking, wise craking, cocky king of the Brooklyn newsies. He’s too cocky for comfort with Leslie and he just thinks she’s pretty. But as time goes on, will they develop feelings for each other? But by the time they do, will it be too late? Will Leslie’s past catch up with her? And will the roughness of the streets threaten to tear her and Spot apart?

Avery Conlon is the twin sister of Spot Conlon, making the two the king and queen of Brooklyn. Spot is overprotective of his sister so what happens when Avery falls for the leader of the newsie strike, Jack Kelly? Finley Kelly, the little sister of the famous Jack Kelly. She's the only girl newsie in all of New York, and because of this, she needs to hide her gender. She's tough, and can take care of herself, but everything changes the day she meets him, the one guy she's ever fallen for (can you guess who :) ).

Racetrack Higgins was a normal Manhattan Newsie- more or less. He was Gay, but so were all of his brothers. He was Jack's Second in Command and had a rough past. He was stubborn, has anxiety, and is a good bit chaotic. Spot Conlon was not a normal Newsie. He was the King of Brooklyn, the Borough feared by most. Except for Race. (And a few others.) Said Italian blonde boy was actually a half Brooklyn, half Manhattan Newsie, as he sold in Brooklyn. Sure, Spot scared him sometimes, but not a lot. They were very different. Spot had brown hair, Race had dirty blonde. Race had been to the Refuge, Spot hadn't. Spot had brown eyes, Race had bright blue eyes. Race was strong, but easily outnumbered, Spot was strong, but wasn't easily outnumbered. One think they both agreed was that they cared for their boys more than anything and would do anything to keep them safe. Oh, that and that the other was cute. Or hot, depending on if you were Spot or Race. ~~ Excerpt from the Story ~~ "Hey, Race." Ace starts, picking up his cards every time Race passes one to him. Race hums, passing a card to Sling, then himself, and then Ace. "Do you have a crush on Spot?" Ace asks, still staring at his cards. Sling hides his smile with his cards in front of his face, stifling a laugh. "No." Race answers, his face reddening slightly as he passes out another card to each boy. Ace looks up at him. "BS." He responds, smirking. Race scowls at him, pulling his hat off of his head and smacking Ace with it, all while his face turns bright red. Ace and Sling laugh. ~~ ~~ (I do not own Newsies.)
