It has been two months since his confrontation with the evil Zoltan Amadeus. The young man behind the mask is convinced that the vice president of Oscorp is planning something evil. Little does Peter realize just how right he is and how Spider-Man will be needed more than ever before. Harry Osborn has been expelled from Midtown High School. The affluent teenager was the one bringing drugs into the school and has been summarily dismissed. It is a source of frustration for Osborn as he had hoped to win back the love of Mary Jane Watson before he graduated from high school. He burns with rage. Now, his rage has led him to embrace the evil philosophies of Zoltan Amadeus. So vile are the pair of entitled businessmen, that they arrange to have Peter Parker's aunt fired from her job.

A ruthless attempt to smuggle drugs into the city on the Staten Island Ferry ends when the costumed vigilante battles the villain to a standstill. Before they escape, the teenage hero attaches one of his tracking devices to the tail of the Scorpion, allowing him to track the whereabouts of this dangerous criminal. Recently, Peter Parker has been troubled by an unsettling thought. Something jogs a memory from his past and he is struck by an awful feeling, a premonition warning him of a future catastrophe. The words, everything that we've ever known or loved is in danger of ending, are stuck in his head. Even worse, Spider-Man crosses paths with Zoltan Amadeus and this enigmatic new threat seems to confirm his worst fears by telling the hero he has no idea what is on the horizon.
