Time has passed. Hyrule is getting rebuilt. Zelda on the other hand is not quite sure what to do. She is no longer a princess, She's a queen with responsibilities. A dark force is looming. Old friends are getting rediscovered but that boy. That man. Link. There's an unfinished story with him. This is my take on the universe. There will be new characters that aren't canon. There will be a few POV swaps but let's see if I can make this a cohesive story.

It's the summer of 1969 and Zelda is finishing her last year of high school while living comfortably in southern California. She seems to have everything a young woman could ask for: a nice house, perfect grades, a best friend. She doesn't understand how valuable her precious comforts are until she meets a boy struggling to keep his head above the water.

Atlas wanted to keep his relationship with Joy a secret. He had his reasons. But while keeping her a secret, he hurt her. Joy had been through a lot, but Atlas's treatment of her was the final straw. She denied his claim to her, and suddenly, Atlas had lost his Joy and had to win her back.

There was a during the Calamity, where truths are told as death wishes and secrets are taken to the grave. There is an after the Calamity, where wrongs are righted and a fresh start is made. But tragedy seems to follow the Princess and the Hero where they go throughout the ages, and this age is no exception. ⚔ The first installment of the Between Them series. In which Link and Zelda meet, and try to get through the Great Calamity together.

When fate brings an island boy and a pirate girl together, things don't initially work out between them. But put them in a worldwide crisis, and guided by a talking boat, they'll have to work together to save Hyrule from evil by resurrecting a sleeping country from its tomb. Who knows, maybe a Hero and a Pirate can fall in love too.
