The bus grinds to a stop beside a sign labelled: WELCOME TO GOTHAM CITY, in peeling black letters. Ethan and I are the first to get off, carrying nothing but a small suitcase and twin backpacks. No one follows us off the bus, a reminder of how horrifying Gotham City must seem to the outside world. The other passengers must think us martyrs or at least suicidal. Storm clouds rumble above our heads and in true "Vega Bad Luck"-as Ethan calls it- the sky opens up to rain. My brother and I are from Florida, we know rain. Hell, we know hurricanes that obliterate whole towns, but there is something about Gotham that sends a shiver down my spine. Maybe its the dark, crime ridden alleyways, the murderers and the villains. Or maybe its the heroes.

I'm not like wonder woman, supergirl or catwoman. The only similarity we share is that we all have an extraordinary ability and are females. Many people would say having superpowers was a gift from god and the best thing that could ever happen to you. But not for me, being able to freeze time was more of a burden, because I couldn't control it and it had the worst timing to appear. I also didn't think about being a superhero and rescuing the world from the bad. The only thing I want is to be left alone and get over with my last year of high school. But of course everything came different and it all started with me attracting accidentally the attention of Reece Matthews. (cover made by Cjc8357)

Wanting to be a superhero and becoming one, are two completely different things. But becoming the opposite? That's way easier. And sometimes it's not on purpose. Fate didn't want me to be a hero. I was a fairly normal girl, growing up in Central City. A city where superheroes and super villains didn't exist... until the particle accelerator exploded. Many people were turned into these metahumans, me being one of them. Likely one of the only changed nine year olds at the time. My parents were both scientists for Star Labs, being two of the many others that died in the blast. Needing to get away, I decided to move to Gotham. A good city to hide in. Maybe it wasn't the best city to move to, but, in the end, I'm glad I did. In the crazy town, I was adopted by the two craziest people there. The Deranged Duo, Harley Quinn and Joker. Gotham City at night was a cesspool of crime, drugs, murder and all-around bad guys. The Joker and Harley Quinn are two of the quote and unquote bad guys by the GCPD and Batsy!....But to me, they are my dear old Daddy and Momma! Call him psychotic and cruel if ya want, but to me and my mom, he's sweet as coconut cream bomb pie! My crazy momma and daddy were locked up by Batsy when I was ten years old. The stupid good guys didn't think the Clown King and Queen of Gotham had a little Clown Princess named Y/n Quinn or on the streets of Gotham with Aunt Poison Ivy: Jester. On and off again, my parents broke out of jail and returned home til I left home and my mom was sent to Belle Reve. I made a name for myself in the dark underground of Gotham at the age of eighteen making my parents proud of their psychotic little girl, all the scum and villains knew who I was then one day lead to me being caught by Batsy and his little bat family then shipped off to Arkham Asylum Prison where I'd find him! My own Harlequin! HAHAHAHA!!
