He had become familiar with those captivating brown eyes that seemed to shimmer with a golden hue under fluorescent lighting. From the moment he first laid eyes on them, Alec had felt an inexplicable connection, as if he was drawn to them by an invisible force. "Hmm..." Magnus hummed. Alec took Magnus's distraction to observe Magnus more closely. 'No, not Magnus. It's Crimson Reign.' Those crimson colored lips, heavy eye makeup, and delicately drawn thin eyebrows.

/His face shone in the moonlight as he sat on the railing of the balcony, a shade of chocolate skin gleaming and his hair flowing in the wind. He smiled at the other man, eyes glowing, like a cat's in the dark. Alec made a move towards Magnus, still holding him on gunpoint, but Magnus smirked and pushed himself off the balcony, waving with one hand. Alec ran towards the edge in shock, only to look over it and see the man flying through the air like a bird in his wingsuit. Alec woke up in the morning and had a really bad hangover. When he turned around he wanted to hug his beloved Magnus but then he was shocked because besides him lay another man. Another Shadowhunter and both lay in his and Magnus' bed. What has Alec done? Has he really done something with this guy and betrayed Magnus in the worst possible way?

He didn't know if he could ever get better. One night he met a young charming, who helped him dealing with all this. He needed him even though it felt like he loses his mind when he was with him.

I said, while hoping that we were talking about the same Alec I met three years ago. It's been three years. After Magnus and Celine left the Shadowhunters, they went back to their normal lives. They lived just like they did before everything happened. They wouldn't forget what they experienced there but they moved on. Three years later, they came back, since they needed help desperately. Just as Magnus thought he's over it, he gets to meet the love of his life again. Just not under the circumstances he expected. !This is the second book of the ready to be-series, so make sure to read the first one before!
