On December 4th, 1538, a great Queen was born by the name of Eliana Catheline Rose of Scotland. Having no mother to look up to as a child, her father, James V of Scotland, remarried to Marie de Guise, exactly one year from the death of Queen Juliana Rose.
Growing up, Eliana was raised by maids, and her step-mothers ladies, hoping the love they give her will fill the missing part in her heart, but soon enough, she would be alone once again.
Having a new half-sister, Mary Stuart, roaming around the castle was stressful enough on Eliana, as she was prepared to become the next Queen of Scotland. But what happens when her step-mother strips her from her title, because of the blood running through Eliana's veins. Will she fight for what is rightfully hers to stay in court? or Will Mary of Guise send her away?
Read along through Eliana's journey into her young adult years, and see the highest and lowest points in her life.

As Sutherland's new king, Emory Davercher faces countless challenges, but nothing as excruciating and frustrating as his mysterious, eccentric betrothed. *** When King Emory of Sutherland receives news that his betrothed is on her way to Sutherland, he sends her away before even laying eyes on the woman he has no intention of marrying. Months later, after a narrow escape from an assassination, he flees to his childhood home where he discovers a massive problem. Due to an unfortunate mishap, his betrothed has not left Sutherland. She's been in his secret estate all along. Grand Princess Florence Paulet of Gavaria and her cousin, Lucy, thinks her arrival in Sutherland will be easy. She doesn't expect that her betrothed, King Emory of Sutherland, will send her straight to an empty estate on an island where they fend for themselves for months. And when he finally shows up, he has the audacity to fool her by introducing himself as someone else. After having killed dozens of chickens with her bare hands to stay alive, and with lying as her ultimate weapon for survival since she left Gavaria, what else can an annoyed, blithe, and audacious Florence do? Of course, she has to return the favor and make him twice the fool. He thinks he's fooling her, and she finds fun knowing it's the other way around. As the harsh winter traps them in the estate, lies, little accidents, and undeniable attraction draw them together stronger than the snowstorm. But not as much as Florence's true reasons for leaving Gavaria, which are also making their way to Sutherland.

The Roseblood Clan. Three thousand years worth of magic cursing through their people's blood. Long before the Bennetts, before the Travellers, The Other Side and the Ancestors, there had been the Roseblood clan. Witches forged from the dying breath of a dragon in the centre of Scotland. The blood of the dragon was the legacy of their people. Yet, stories and history could be twisted by the victors of the many battles that had plagued the clan. A war between kin had destroyed the legacy of the Roseblood Clan. After a thousand years, their rule of magic had come to a halt. For over two thousand years, a story had been spun. The story of the evil siphoner. The abomination that had ruined their line. Yet, the truth loomed, threatening to reveal the true reason as to why siphoners existed. What their true purpose was. Were they abominations, the bastards of the magical world or were they meant to take power from those undeserving to ensure it was not misused? Only the victor of the battle gets to tell the tale. Athena Flora Roseblood was far from a victor. Being a firstborn Roseblood had cursed her like many others before her. Firstborn women in their line were not meant to meet their first breath of air, they were destined to die, to be sacrificed within the womb to help empower their coven, yet for the first time in two thousand years, a firstborn woman had come screaming into the world. Athena was never been meant to be born. Her blood haunted her from the second she took her first breath, her house divided thanks to thousands of years of lies. Lies that may never come to the light of day. Fear was a powerful totem and after two thousand years of lies, it left Athena trapped within the cage created for her. The abomination, the bastard of nature, the Roseblood Siphoner. Nothing to the world but a mistake and a monster.

Ice flooded my veins as the realization of who he was hit me. It must have been evident on my face because the man in front of me let out a dark laugh. "Oh dear, you didn't realize you were talking to a royal, did you darling?" he crooned. Not just any royal. Kesserian Cinis. The recently coronated king and ruler over the Ember Court. I forgot how to breathe, my mind whirring as it tried to figure out how I could have been so stupid as to let this happen. *************************************************** Wren Heatherfield is on the run. Having turned 18, she is now in danger of becoming selected for the Garner, a deadly game in which the six kings who rule over her continent take eighteen non-magical girls and make them fight for their lives. But as she tries to avoid the game by running away with her best friend and her sister, she consequently finds herself doomed to be a competitor in the 246th Garner. But the Garner isn't the only thing capable of killing her. In a castle surrounded by kings with dark powers and girls fighting for their lives, she may find that the politics of royalty can be just as deadly as their games. No one can be trusted in a palace full of monsters and, if Wren has any hopes of survival, she may have to become one herself.
