It hurts when a relationship you imagined to be positive burns and crashes, leaving an invisible, albeit strongly impacting scar. Scars last forever, meaning that you won't forget what happened, but they can heal up.

Not for Lang Qingli. What's more, she only has so many chances. How did this curse come to be for her, and can she survive it?

Trigger warnings: Violence and blood (gets a bit extreme later on), swearing, mentions/references of sexual activity, mentions of cannibalism, mentions of child abuse, usage of needles (for acupuncture only), underage consumption of alcohol

Disclaimer: I do not agree with nor am I encouraging child abuse and underage drinking. They are for plot purposes only.

The Librarian and the Fox Princess: a Donghua Dijun and Bai Fengjiu story, V.I by Small_T_Rex
172 parts Complete Mature
This story is about the birth and development of the best friendship between Donghua Dijun and his little fox. In my re-imagined story, I am attempting to give our beloved leads a genuine chance at love with their own thoughts, behaviors, and desires. Granted, life is full of misunderstandings, obstacles and karma. Donghua learns that being a heartless god has its consequences. Having been careless and inconsiderate with the hearts of those who had fawned over him, he'll find it difficult to fulfill his. At its very core, this is a character-driven story about healing from trauma and the growth of a deep and meaningful friendship. It also attempts to explore the coming of age of love and desire for each of them. Those who can't tolerate slow burns should avoid reading this story ;) They meet much later, (she never becomes his maid) and was not involved in the BQ/Su Su/YH situation. Xiao Bai is young and very innocent as this story unfolds. Donghua is arrogant and obtuse, though with more playfulness and tenderness in the style of The Pillow Book. His edges are much softer. There are quite a few characters from the original series. Zhe Yan, Mo Yuan, Bai Zhen, Bai Qian, Ye Hua, Lian Song, Si Ming and Zhong Lin will make appearances, plus others from Eternal Love and ELOD. Lust desire will play a part of this story so mature themes/content in later chapters. Reader discretion advised. Story is also LGBTQ friendly, as am I. This story and the characters are based on Tangi Gongzi's Three Lives Three Worlds, the Pillow Book, and TMOPB. Images borrowed for this story (like the book cover) belong to the tv dramas and their respective owners/artists. I am a Furnace

16 parts Ongoing

When its master is gone, can a human furnace live as a person? I am a pure yin constitution furnace, solely for the demonic sect master to use. But then shizun killed the sect master and took me home, and he said, "From now on, you are not a furnace. You are my disciple." A short story about found family, recovery, and new beginnings. (The romance lines are teacher x rogue cultivator, disciple x disciple) Context for readers: this story breaks down a common trope in cultivation stories found in Chinese fantasy, namely, the idea of a "human cauldron" or human furnace. In these stories, engaging in 'dual cultivation' (that is, intercourse) with someone of opposite traits from yourself can increase your strength of cultivation. Human furnaces are people with whom dual cultivating is especially beneficial. They often suffer tragic fates. The protagonist in this story is someone who has been raised as a human furnace, without understanding of his own worth as a human being. The novel explores his healing and growth as he learns to live freely with the support of his teacher and friends. While this is a slice-of-life story that focuses on daily living and emotion, it touches on darker concepts within the protagonist's psychology and memories. Please take care while reading.
