Paul Ikechukwu left Ibadan with his mother to move to the shore of Lagos, where his mother had found a new job.

Since Paul's father had died years before, Paul had to adjust to life in a new city with his mother. Paul was in JSS 1 and started the second term at a new school.

His mother searched for an affordable school that would be a good fit for Paul. After stumbling across a woman on the road who told her about an affordable school, Paul's mother found out about "John Felix Academy."

Paul's mother took him to John Felix Academy the very next day without hesitation. She paid the school fees, as well as fees for his uniform, sports wear, and books.

Paul didn't know that his mother had enrolled him in a school filled with strange people, including the teachers and principal.

As the story unfolds, Paul struggles to adjust to life at John Felix Academy. Even though he tells his mother about the problems he faces, she doesn't consider changing schools. In his time at the school, Paul learns how odd humans can be.
