Regulus Black and James Potter are not supposed to be friends. James' friend group hates Regulus' friend group. Regulus' brother, who just so happens to be James' best friend, hates him, and strongly influenced how James viewed him. Regulus is a cold-hearted snake, and James is an annoying prankster. That is... until Regulus runs away over Christmas break and finds himself at the Potters'.
