Rejection hurts. But does it hurt enough that you'd be willing to let someone die?

Li, a musician, meets a mysterious guy at a bar one night and gives him her number. Her memory is quite hazy, so she doesn't remember what he looks like. When he texts her the next day, he refuses to give her a name. He disappears and comes back, over and over again.

Li has given up on him when she gets pulled into solving the case of a missing person named Hannah. Someone in the group seems so familiar to her...but it might not be who you think.

What happens when she finds out the truth? Can she forgive the guy who broke her heart and still save her friends?

As this is fanfic, there WILL be spoilers, so if you plan on playing the game or haven't finished it, I suggest you do so before reading this book! The plot begins prior to the game's beginning and continues past the end of the game. Some aspects of the story may be different.

PART1: It's been three months since Elena McClain found Hannah and Richy after their disappearance. But hasn't she received even a single message from Jake since that day either. He just... Disappeared. For several weeks she tried to find him, but after a while she thought he just gave up on her and left her. After finishing Hannah's case, Elena McClain decided to move to Duskwood. One night, she receives a strange message from the unknown number... But it isn't from Jake. It turned out that Jake has been found and kept by the government and only she can save him. It's the second time when she has to solve the riddle to save someone's life. Jake has been waiting for her for three months but... What if it's too late? _____________________________________________ [MARCH 2023: THE STORY WAS CORRECTED] This fanfic takes place after episode 9 in the mobile game DUSKWOOD. I was waiting for episode 10 so I decided to create my own story. The story contains violent scenes, sexual content, strong language and adult content. This story contains graphics and photos from public resources so I don't have copyright to them. I use them in a creative way - I diversify them and add my personal artistic vision. I have copyright to my personal artwork. The story focuses on the story of Elena and Jake in the DIC which is my created universe, but the story still contains the themes of the game "Duskwood". These threads, of course, belong to Everbyte Studio. English is not my first language. Please, forgive me my mistakes.

After her mother passed away a week later, MC returned to her home and left the hectic city life. She discovered an old hand phone inside her mother's desk while cleaning the house, but it was empty. She was suddenly interrupted by a call on that hand phone. Thomas asked her if she knew where Hannah, his girlfriend, was since he had gotten a message from her with a phone number. She has been joined to a group chat with Hannah's friends and family while she is still perplexed. After all the commotion from the group chat, a hacker by the name of Jake got in touch with her. He asks for MC's assistance in finding Hannah, and MC must comply because she has no other option. The more information the MC learned about Hannah and the others while looking for clues, Jake and MC thought one of Hannah's friends was responsible for Hannah's disappearance. Then, MC learned about the man without a face, legendary Duskwood creature; he leaves a raven's mark on the doors of the worst sinners. Each year, on the night of the first new moon, he returns to the houses he has marked, drags anybody inside-guilty or not-out into the forest, never to be seen again. MC initially refused to believe in paranormal phenomena, but as time went on, inexplicable catastrophes began to occur. The faceless individual attacked Jessy, threatened Cleo's mother in a letter, and painted a red raven symbol on Richy's garage. Jake and MC continue their investigation into Hannah's disappearance because it appears that no harm has been done until Richy was attacked by the man without a face in the woods and was bleeding. What will MC do after that? Will she finish her inquiry or halt it before another person dies? ****************************************************************** English is not my first language, I'm sorry for grammar error ⚠️ All rights to Everbyte Credit picture : Google & Unsplash

(Duskwood with alternate ending) Willow and Jake love to drive each other crazy and the fact that they are chasing a masked madman doesn't seem to stand in the way. But will they be able to find Hannah? They should watch their backs, because soon things can get deadly. Or hilarious. Or both! -------------------- I tried to balance the story between thriller/mystery and comedy, I really wanted to do a little lighter and funnier (yet still serious) version of Duskwood, answering the questions that were left open along the way. The story begins at the beginning of 9th episode, right after Jessy's and Thomas' visit at Michael Hanson's house. I'm following the game plot a little, but then things will change drastically. (Little additional info for you: English is my second language and I'm constantly correcting any mistakes I can find, so if you see anything out of place, feel free to let me know.) Please note that this book is rated 18 and contains content suitable for mature audiences. Appropriate trigger warnings are included, and most intimate scenes are skippable. But still, if you're not over 18, please do not interact and find something else to read :) (Cover drawn by me)
