I yelp, running into Travis's back and wrapping my arms around him, "What was that?! Did you hear that?! I know I wasn't the only one who heard that!!"
We stop, and Travis sighs softly. He turns around laughing, and I let him go. My cheeks flush, realizing I just hugged this man.
Nervously, I mumble, playing with my fingers, "Sorry!! I didn't mean to do that! I was just really friggin scared!! It's dark outside and I hate the dark, I start seeing all sorts of shit!!! Like shadows and other creepy stuff!!! Sorry again-"
Interrupting me, Travis grabs my hands and pulls me into his chest. My cheeks flush at the notion, my heart throbbing. He wraps his arms around me as he rubs his hand up and down my back, soothingly.
Lord, he smells good~
"Tiny, why are you apologizing??" He asks, sounding curious.
"Because..." I mumble, laying my head on his firm chest, "I didn't mean to hug you like that. I just thought you'd think it was weird."
"You say sorry for weird shit, you know that?? And I don't care that you hugged me. If I thought it was weird, I wouldn't be hugging you now."
He falls silent, just holding me in his embrace, and I blush like an idiot. A moment passes before he says, voice low and quiet, "You worry too much..."

"You need to call off this party," I boldly told my stepbrother in the kitchen.
He cocked his head attractively, his thin eyes scrutinizing me. His upper lip curled up in that seductive habit that I had become familiar with.
"And why should I do that?" he murmured. His eyes were come-to-bed-with-me stunning, inviting with me with that inescapable pull, and damn if I didn't wet my panties.
Get it together, Madison, said my insidious voice.
I almost complied with that command until Caden went on and said something that left me breathless before his egotistical smirk. "Will you be my snack tonight?"
He hates you. Don't forget that. I was reminded by my subconscious.

Caden always goes extreme to make my life a living hell since after our parents got married four years ago. Although I'm similar to my stepbrother-the only difference between us is: I am a surreptitious bully, and Caden's a blatant bully. I wonder how sharing the same apartment for our first year at Stanford University will turn out. Honestly? I'm not eager to find out.
Step into an adventure of passion, forgiveness, and second chances in this compelling two-part saga.
This is Caden and Madison's story.
