Her heart was beating so fast and her stomach ached so bad. She knew this was it, this was her fate being sealed.

" Zhulfah Bint Ilyas? "

It would be weird to ask the Imam a question like " Hey look. There was a really nice old friend of my dad's pestering me to be his third wife and I didn't want to go to Ogbomosho and his proposal came along and everything kinda rushed from there, so does that mean I was in my sane mind when I said...yes?"

Surely some level of insanity meant she wasn't sure, right? Must the question be a yes or no answer? Can't it just be a maybe? Something along the lines of ' maybe I'll marry him 'cuz my heart is kinda telling me to but my brain's answer isn't forthcoming?'

Wait...does that even make any sense?

" Zhulfah Bint Ilyas? "

She hadn't had breakfast but she felt like she downed a whole packet of laxatives with the way her stomach danced weirdly.

" Zhulfah... "

" Yes! Yes! Yes! I do! I do!" She said a bit too loudly into the mic, and was instantly filled with regret.

She heard her best friend chuckle lightly behind her and she wanted nothing more than to give her a good beating. She glanced over at her husband to be in a few minutes, and her face heated up when she caught him smiling amusingly.

" I mean", She cleared her throat. " I do...accept him as...as..my husband."

" Well, I think I'll have to speed up the event and legalize these two", The Imam joked and the whole congregation burst into laughter. Zhulfah's face warmed up several degrees, and she was so sure her face would be burnt before the end of that day with the way she was blushing to a severe degree. The Imam was still laughing, and she knew it won't look like a joke much longer if she had a scissors to his beard.

HIGHEST RANKINGS: #1 IN ISLAM #10 IN SPIRITUAL "Tell me what you want. Anything. Just don't hurt them." That quirked his interest. "You would give me anything? Truly?" "I- what do you have in mind?" He stood up, moving closer to her. "A little something," he whispered, his voice low and husky. "First tell me you consent." She tried to step aside but he slammed his palms against the tree trunk, shoving her against it. "You said anything." She realized what he meant and nearly fell back. "No! I didn't mean that. You-you can't." "Give me your brother then." Her eyes welled up with tears. "P-please. I've never- I can't." "Anything." "We're not married." He laughed at that. "We don't have to be." She met his gaze and buried her face slightly in Ruhayl's hair. It was amazing how silent that kid was. "I-I don't-" He took a step back and shrugged. He wasn't one to force himself on a girl. His ways were malicious but he loathed the idea of rape. "All right. Fine. Let's play a game then." Her eyes narrowed in suspicion. "A game?" "If you survive, I'll consider sparing your brothers. If you lose, you will give me what I want willingly. Simple." He smirked. In both cases, he would win. Muhammad thought of Madeenah as a child, younger than his baby sister, although way more mature. She seemed to have created a bond with his daughter and that was all that came to his mind about her. Not her smooth caramel skin, or her captivating light brown eyes and neither did her sweet voice do it for him. Madeenah thought of Ya Muhammad as an arrogant and stoic person but a really good father. In truth she was terrified of him. She hated the way he would look at her, as though she was less important than him. She hated the way he never spoke unless he needed to. She hated the way his voice washed over her, making her shiver. She hated his height and how it made him tower over her small frame. She hated him but she just couldn't stop thinking about him. So what happens when the two end up being brought together by an unusual arrangement . He's older, she's younger. He has a daughter and she has barely begun life. Will he let go of the past and try to find happiness or will he drag her down with him? --------------------------------------- "Let's get married." He says with such a straight face that I feel stupid as I chuckle. "What did you just say?" I ask in disbelief. "You heard me Madeenah." He says in a gravelly tone. "Why would you want to marry me?" I shake my head. "You don't like me." "I like you well enough to be married to you." His broad shoulders shrug in his familiar black suit. What is going on with him? And what have I gotten myself into?

|| Arranged Marriage Romance || Previous name: Only Yours - The Vow Started on: 2nd March 2024. Finished on: 8th April 2024. Word count: ~120000 words. ~ ☆✿☆~ Nikshit was very late to have realized how stupid he was for coming here. Watching her chewing on her nails while muttering to herself wasn't as pleasant to the eyes as were the patties on his plate. The combination of cheese, garlic and onion on the crispy bread with the combination of chilled soda with a slight burning sensation in the throat was savory. Nikshit almost got lost in the roundness of the plate he was eating from when there was a snap of fingers in front of his eyes. A snap of fingers coated in breadcrumbs. The breadcrumbs which flew in the air and fell on his plate. He wanted to run away without looking back. He should not have agreed to meet her today. "Back to Earth, Dahiya." He looked up with disgust written all over his face but it seemed like Maithili couldn't care any less. She wiped her fingers and crossed her arms before showing a grin that screamed 'you won't believe it but I have a great idea'. "You can't marry me." Of course he can't or he might go crazy within a month. "Oh?" "Yes. I have AIDS." What the f*ck? "Go tell your parents that you can't marry me because I have AIDS." The statement led by a bright smile with a jump on her seat in excitement had Nikshit choking on his soda. Eventually he felt it inside his nose as well when he tried to breathe. His eyes became watery and reddened. Maithili patted his back out of consideration and handed him a glass of water which still didn't help. "Are you okay?" The coughing stopped but Nikshit couldn't wipe off the flabbergasted look from his face. What is wrong with this girl! He doesn't want to stay around her anymore. She's crazy! ~ ☆✿☆~
