A few tidbits are included from the Song of Ice and Fire novels, but the rest is primarily from the HBO TV series.

This is my version of the story that should have been. I start from a mixture between what has been the series and the novels. Daenerys arrives in Westeros when the supposed Aegon is attacking King's Landing. Euron Greyjoy is the one from the books, not the one from the series. Jon is King in the North. I use phrases taken from the books and the series, not everything is completely my invention and of course all rights and characters belong to George RR Martin and HBO.

Eddard Stark, Lord of Winterfell and Warden of the North had just executed a deserter of the Nightseatch, accompanied by his sons Robb and Brandon Stark, and his bastard son Jon Snow. On the way back, they recover six dire wolf pups after their mother died killing a stag. They then find a knight bearing the sigil of a lion lying in the river, suffering from hypothermia, nearly drowned, and body broken. They bring him back to Winterfell and tend to him while he lies in a coma over the next few weeks. King Robert Baratheon then arrives and offers his best friend Eddard Stark to be the Hand of the King following the death of their father figure Jon Arryn, who served as the previous Hand. How will this new player in the Game of Thrones turn the tide.

This book is about Game of Thrones. My fanfiction, when Robert Baratheon started a war for Lyanna Stark. By that I mean Eddard Stark saved the Targaryen children from the capital before getting killed. And he bought them up as his own in Winterfell. Without Robert knowing what Eddard Stark did.
