The night of the massacre in the Village Hidden in the Leaves was a turning point for Itachi Uchiha. He had been entrusted with a mission, one that he had known about for some time. As he carried out his plan, none were left alive except for his younger brother Sasuke, who was left in a state of shock and disbelief at the gruesome scene that had unfolded before him. Itachi's mastery of deception and the Sharingan allowed him to cover his tracks thoroughly, ensuring that he would be viewed as the villain responsible for the tragedy. The killing of Izumi, was even part of his plan which was done to protect Sasuke. However, the safety of another was also at stake, making the success of Itachi's mission all the more important. The memory of the Uchiha clan massacre still haunts (YN). She can't forget the sight of mutilated bodies lying on the street, with only the flickering street lamps illuminating the eerie silence of the night. She still can't recall why she was there in the first place, but she suspects it may have been to see Sasuke. Her relationship with Sasuke was complicated, and her feelings for him always left her in a state of confusion. However, as a seasoned ninja on a mission, she had to put her mixed feelings aside and focus on the task at hand.
