Carson Sage won the 68th Hunger Games, but it came at a cost. Her mother, father, and brother were all killed because she refused to participate in Snow's dealings. She was forced to raise her younger sister on her own. It wasn't easy, but she managed.

The Quarter Quell changed everything. After being reaped for the second time, Carson realized that things needed to change for good. Nobody was safe while President Snow was still breathing. She joins Plutarch's underground network and helps Katniss Everdeen survive and become the Mockingjay.

Now at District 13, Carson is determined to help aid the Mockingjay on her journey and bring the Capitol to justice. Along the way, she meets Pollux, a Capitol Avox. An unlikely friendship forms between the two.
