This story takes place in England, 1760, some years before lady Georgia sadly married Lord Walter Pearson at the young age of sixteen. Four years later, Lord Pearson tragically lost his life in a duel to his former lover's husband. Now, widowed from a marriage that was far from love lady Georgia was only grateful for having her only daughter, Luella.

Thankfully, Georgia's Aunt, Lady Willoughby saves her just in time summoning them both to her country seat. After, three long years of mourning all the while avoiding further scandal, she couldn't help the day when she noticed His Grace, the Duke of Richmond. He has seemed to be assuming residence in his country seat in the large vast lands which happened to lie just adjacent to the Willoughby's.

The Duke of Richmond never bothered to visit his country seat which was his vast reality of the wife and children that he didn't have to accompany him. He had closed that part off from himself after being scarred and burned long ago...

So when it just so happens that he notices a woman he's quite never seen before, and her sweet little angle daughter seemingly residing on the lands that have always been adjacent to his country seat estate, which he never bothered to reside in, he couldn't help but feel something pulling at his heart. . .

All along it was the key to unlock it.

Toast of the Season by MissCrystalSnow92
40 parts Complete
Edmund Westworth (26), the third Earl of Beaumont, and the most eligible bachelor in London, unknowingly started a tradition he now regrets. At age twenty-two he danced the first dance at the season opening ball at Almack's with a young lady who became the toast of the season. The next year he did the same. Every year since, he has danced one dance, to fulfill his mother's requirement. And every year his dance partner becomes the most sought after girl of the season. Some think he has a gift, Edmund thinks he could pick any girl and 'the ton' would deem her desirable based on his dance alone. His friends disagree and bet him 100£ to choose a dance partner who couldn't possibly entice the gentlemen of London. When her father suddenly passes away, Elizabeth Cavendish (20) has to move in with her aunt's family. With the estate entailed, Elizabeth needs to find a husband quickly or her aunt will install her into a governess or lady's companion position, which would severely hinder Beth's ability to work on her scientific experiments. Garbed in her cousin's horrific dresses from last season, she only has a few weeks to find a husband before she is doomed to tedious work for the rest of her life. She finds an unlikely accomplice in the Earl of Beaumont. Please don't copy any part of my story in any form (including Youtube) without my permission. Hope Hillburn was born to a life of servitude and never once questioned her role in society. As a lady's maid to Noelle Parrish, she had everything she wanted out of life; a secure and honorable post, a decent room to call her own, and ample time to write fantastical tales of winsome creatures while her mistress, Lady Noelle, attended the various society events offered by the ton. Lady Noelle Parrish knew that her father was anxious to see her wed but she never imagined he'd go behind her back and arrange for her to marry against her will, to a duke with a questionable reputation no less. Disheartened by the prospect of marrying a man she's never met and the possibility of foregoing a lifetime of love, Noelle makes the impulsive decision to flee England with an American gentleman she's only just met. There's only one problem... Lady Noelle's father, the Earl of Brattondale, would never permit her to marry an untitled American, nor was he willing to go back on his word to the duke. In her desperation, Lady Noelle convinces Hope to take her place after noticing an uncanny resemblance between them both. Against her own better judgment, Hope agrees to take Noelle's place when she realizes there's no other way for Noelle to flee to America without causing her family disgrace. Thrown into a life she has only ever viewed from the outside, Hope must convince everyone that she is a lady lest her farce be discovered. She is confident that she can handle society's strict rules of propriety but she soon learns that guarding her heart from falling in love with an incredibly handsome, self assured duke with a penchant for snarling isn't going to be quite as easy.

A younger sister cannot wed before an older sister. It's a law of their society, a rule vehemently obeyed by prominent families in the nobility, and it's always been Ella Harrington's buffer. Ella has never been interested in marrying for anything short of love itself. Unfortunately for her, love is a rarity in the marriages of the aristocracy. Fortunately for her, her sister Emily is precisely one year older than her and is the most unpleasant, disagreeable, sulking woman to ever debut in all of England. So Ella may never have to marry at all. A free woman, she enjoys her time on the sidelines and wishes for nothing more. That is, until a tall, dark, and brooding Duke comes to town alongside an old friend of her brother's. Suddenly, Ella finds herself questioning the antiquated marriage order rule as her buffer begins to feel more like a barrier. Not that it matters. The Duke isn't interested in her anyway. Right?
