15 years before the legendary newsies strike of 1899, a child was born. When he is 18 months old, he is brought to the Manhattan Newsies Lodging House. In time, he would be known as Racetrack Higgins. This is his story. This is the story of the newsies strike of 1899...but not as you know it. With twists and turns and new angles in every direction, you'll learn many new things about Racetrack, and his newsie family who watches him grow and develop in his own unique way. A collection of various "Newsies" imagines written around 2016-2017. Thought it would be fun to keep them all in one place as a kind of time capsule back into my thoughts and feelings during high school. Posted in no particular order.

"Jack why's do I have ta come?" Race questions. "Because Racer, your my second which means you have ta come ta meetings and that includes Brooklyn." It's not that Race didn't like Brooklyn, he loved Brooklyn, he even sold his papers in Brooklyn, but the leader of Brooklyn terrified him in many ways. He was terrified of Spot physically and romantically. Race had seen Spot a few times and saw him during the strike, Race had fallen hard for this Brooklyn boy, but so many things could go wrong if Spot or anyone else found out about it. " Ace! Hotshot!" Spot yells. "Be ready by the time Jack Kelly gets here!" Spot yells again. To say the least Spot was nervous, he wasn't nervous of Jack, but he had heard rumors that Jack's second was coming with him. Spot new for a fact that Jack's second was Racetrack Higgins, the boy that Spot lets sell on his turf, the boy that he made laugh in the court room, the boy he had fallen in love with. Of course nobody can know about it, the things that they would do to Spot is the unthinkable. This is also kind of a musical, some of the Newsies will sing songs, some won't. I do not own any Newsie characters except Spike. I do not own any of the songs either. This is A sprace story if you haven't figured that out by now. I try to have two chapters in each week, might be more than that, might be less than that, just depends how my schedule's look. Some chapters are pretty short others are long. There's really no consistency with me. Hope you enjoy it!

Racetrack Higgins, a Manhattan Newsie. Spot Conlon's best friend and crush, not that they would admit that they have crushes on each other. No one knows about Racetrack's past, and not many people bothered to ask, until he started babying scars. He refused to tell them, but when Spot, then Race himself, gets kidnapped one day, how will they find and save Race and Spot? He'd be forced to tell them his past. But at the same time he is struggling with his homelife and parents but pushes this away as much as possible. Until it all falls apart at Christmas only to fall together a few months later.
