My name is Des.
And I'm one of the most dangerous people on the planet.
I can save the world.
Or destroy it.
And the problem is, I don't know if it's my choice.

Destine Whiston (Des) is your average teen. She hates reading and homework and loves to play board games with her little sister and her adopted father, Andy, and go out for ice cream. But until one special morning ... she is no longer normal anymore.
Des finds out she is an ataxia, a person with abnormal superhuman abilities. She is thrust into a world of superpowers where she has to stay hidden away from the outside world and a corrupt government that wants her dead. She is torn away from her home and into a new world that she is barely beginning to process.
And just when she is getting used to her new normal ... she is told she is far from normal. She is the most powerful being who ever lived, and her purpose is to destroy the world.

A dystopian young adult novel involving romance, secret experiments on human subjects, and a group of teenagers' will to survive. Reader Comments: "I'm gonna gush about your book real quick...all the technology has a purpose and is beautifully explained so I can picture it in my mind...the whole concept of the book is completely original...*moment of silence for your beautiful arch of character development* everything your characters do is strictly them but they develop enough to show more about themselves without you straight up telling the reader about them" -Vairl9023 "Ahh!!! This is so good!! I will be anxiously awaiting the next Chapter!!" -CrystalBagot "Brilliant...ohh, this is very catchy, good work" -IndeeMaynard "I love this so far" -BrianneMorris "You've done a great job at creating a mysterious mood" -poisonedpen *** All Evita Creedy, 17, wants is to finish her degree and be accepted for a prestigious job with the city's Department of Energy. Dea Price is a runaway- or rather she was a runaway. When her mother's rants about the man who lived behind the mirror and who would one day come for Dea became too much, she left. Two years later, Dea is forced home to help her estranged brother bury their mother. Coming home forces to Dea to confront her past, and also brings an interesting group of strangers into her life. At first, Dea is sceptical, but when she begins exhibiting inhuman powers, she has no choice but to trust, something that doesn't come easy to her. Slowly, Dea learns the shocking truth. Her mother wasn't crazy or vindictive. The man behind the mirror is real, and he is coming for her. Dea learns that she belongs to a special race of humans who possess abilities such as mind control, telekinesis, and superhuman strength. She is thrust into the middle of a turf war, and tasked with protecting herself, and the family she never knew she had. Dea must learn how to control her budding powers, but she also must decide who she can trust, and what is and isn't worth fighting for.
