My mouth lay agape and the arm that was blocking the harsh rays of sunlight from entering my eyes fell limp at my side. Father's words had left me in a state of confusion, the cogs in my brain unable to turn fast enough to comprehend the information thrust my way. I swallowed the lump in my throat and spoke. "You're what?" A deep sigh sounded through the phone as my father responded, "I'm marrying a woman called Miwa Asahina, we'll be working out something for you and Ema to go live with your thirteen step-brothers." His response was calm beyond all reason but I couldn't withhold my shock. "You're getting married?" I practically screamed in reply. My brain stuttered for a few moments as his words replayed over and over again in my mind. This was completely unbelievable. "We have how many brothers?" Eyes and mouth frozen wide open I stood still in the street, white as chalk, and staring straight at the house I called home. There was no way in hell I wasn't dreaming. This wasn't real. I stood, unable to speak, totally stunned as thoughts bounced around inside my skull. My life was about to get a whole lot more complicated.

This story was developed as if Ema had a secret twin sister that no one knew about. Not even themselves. Yuri was adopted and raised from birth by her barren Aunt being told that her parents had begged her to take their second daughter as they were too poor to raise two children. Her parents had kept Ema, but later died. Yuri and Ema grew up playing together on occasion being confused for each other when they did. Yuri was extremely shy and intelligent. Yuri had also completed all her exams with honors for Speech and Drama as acting helped her to function.
